Trump's Second Term

There's a reason why there's such a significant overlap in the Venn diagram showing Trump cultists and people who send their retirement checks to televangelists.
And a significant overlap in the Venn diagram of televangelists and Trump enablers. The grift is very strong with both, my padawan learner!

You are quite correct. So why can't Europe defend itself?

Now apply that logic to Europe. Why aren't they doing more to support Ukraine? Why don't they give Ukraine the weapons and money necessary to win? As you pointed out, Europe has the economic muscle to dominate Russia, if it should choose to do so. Why aren't they?
What has Wyoming ever done for Ukraine?

Is he implying Musk rigged the voting machines in his favour?
They probably created extra votes for Trump. No need to mess with existing votes and turning Biden into Trump. Some voting districts had excessive turnout comaped to 2020. it would be millions of votes to look at over 5 states. Look at the ballots and interview voters. It will turn out that the fake votes only have Trump checked off with the rest of the ballot blank.

Trump on Jerome Powell:

"We're thinking about bringing a suit against Powell for incompetence... It's going to end up costing more than $4 billion. It's the highest price of construction per square foot in the history of the world."

WTF has Trumpy mixed up in his head this time? Jerome Powell is the Chair of the Federal Reserve. His job isn't measured in square feet, although his office might be.

This is exactly what YOU are doing. Anything that Trump does that's against Russia's interests, you ignore.

As for what I'm pushing, all I'm pushing is that Trump isn't Putin's lackey. I'm not arguing that he's the most anti-Russian president we've had (I agree he's not), I'm not arguing that his Russia policies are optimal (they aren't), and I'm not arguing that there's nothing to criticize about them. But there's an actual conspiracy theory being advanced on this thread that he's under Putin's control, and it's just wrong.

You may want to re-watch the Helsinki debacle. Look at both leaders faces for context clues.

Fun (for some liited value of the term) fact: a lot of that was filmed on a street I was living on in Sheffield.

The interiors were done in my friend Liz's flat; the exteriors of the doctor's surgery were the house I was living in.

Aaaah, the late, great Peter Tinniswood.
There are three or four good Radio4 series based around Uncle Mort and Carter.

Start with Uncle Mort's North Country.

On 24 July, Trump tried to ambush Powell as the two of them, wearing hard hats in front of TV cameras, walked through part of the construction project that is renovating the Federal Reserve building. Speaking to the cameras, Trump said the renovation would cost $3.1 billion. Powell shook his head. To prove his point, Trump waved a piece of paper. Powell put on his reading glasses to examine the figures on that piece of paper, and then told Trump his $3.1 billion figure included the cost of renovating the Martin building, an entirely different project that was completed five years ago.

Trump tried to carry on as though he had won the argument, but Trump had gone well out of his way to embarrass himself, and it was a very public embarrassment. Trump holds grudges. It's been long enough that Trump can pretend everyone has forgotten about that hard-hat scene, or maybe the demented fool has just forgotten about it himself. Whatever the reason, Trump is making a second attempt at the same failed argument by threatening to sue.

As I recall, the Fed's renovation is being paid for by a source of Fed funds that is independent of the federal government's funding, so Trump can't sue on behalf of taxpayers. That's why he's threatening to sue Powell for "gross incompetence".

Google AI:
  • Drone Claim: He specifically stated, "Drones won't touch it," though he did not provide technical details on how the roof would prevent drones from landing on or flying near it.
  • Context: The claim was made while Trump was criticizing Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell for alleged cost overruns on the Federal Reserve’s own renovations, contrasting them with his "under budget" ballroom project.
The term "drone-free roof" is not a standard architectural or security industry term, but it is believed to refer to anti-drone technology designed to jam, intercept, or physically block unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from accessing the structure.
It gives me no outside link.

In Ukraine, troops are deploying nets to prevent drones coming too close to their vehicles and positions. Maybe a huge metal net deployed over the ball room could help secure it against drones.

Maybe it should be painted in camouflage so that the drones can't find the ball room, and then bomb the White House instead?

If Trump gets his way, the net will be made out of gold, so I hope nobody tells him about this!
