That is really weird, why wasn't Trump giving them their medals, seems rather redundant to do the ceremony in the Oval office, with the President but the president doesn't give out the medals?

He invented the word 'Soldiers', before him they had to be called 'War Fighting People' which was too much hassle first thing in the morning when all you wanted was to dip toast in your boiled egg.

After Pearl Harbor, he offered to reactivate his commission as a pilot but was rejected for his age.
Instead worked as a technical consultant for Ford on bomber production and for United Aircraft on Corsair performance.
United sent him to the Pacific as a technical representative where he flew with Marine and Army Air Corps units teaching pilots fuel conservation techniques for long range missions.
He flew in combat in Corsairs and Lightnings and is credited with shooting down a Japanese aircraft.

Would you prefer "Nazi Adjacent"? "America First" was very pro-German. That's why they made Lindbergh go to the Pacific, where he could shoot his racial inferiors. Not that he was supposed to be doing so.

You are assuming he actually files suit. He has been threatening to do so for a while now. It's definitely going to happen any minute now, apparently.

Maybe he does it. Maybe he sues the BBC, in a USA court that has no jurisdiction over the BBC, under US defamation laws, over a programme not broadcast in the USA. Maybe he will, or maybe he'll just keep announcing that this a thing he's totally about to do, any day now.

That said, he is dumb as all ◊◊◊◊ and an habitual vexatious litigant, so all bets are off.
