Trump's Second Term

Brooke Rollins on spiking beef prices in November 2025: "There's a lot of reasons for that. The Biden-Harris administration had a war on cattle because they talked about climate change and cattle, um -- it was crazy."
Uh huh? Walk us through how talking about climate change in past years pushes up the cost of beef now. Did the cows hear them, feel guilty and decide to end it all?
I think the mindset is "Leftists claim cows contribute to global warming because they are methane producers so they want to cut down beef production".

Which might be relevant if the Biden administration actually took any sort of action that impacted the beef industry. Which they didn't.

Like any other "voucher" programme to "subsidise" public services, TACOs plan will only benefit rich people, as they'll be able to use the vouchers to subsidise their existing private plans, whereas poor people won't get the vouchers because they won't be able to afford a private plan and won't therefore be eligible.

Counterpoint: Underpaid workers will be forced to use the money to pay for necessities like food and rent keeping them productive while allowing corporations to continue to underpay them for a bit longer until they die of something preventable.

Well, exactly. If the Biden admin didn't actually do anything that reduced beef production, but leftists felt guilted into eating less beef, supply and demand says the prices ought to have come down.

IDK why US beef prices are up, but Biden fretting about cow farts isn't the cause.

From the looks of things, beef prices are up for a few reasons:

Beef prices are largely up because cattle numbers are down. Drought, disease, and slow repopulation have led to herds that are thinner than ever in 2025. This, combined with how tariffs on foreign goods are limiting imported competition, has created ongoing supply-and-demand fueled price hikes on beef.

So, Tariffs are definitely Trump's fault.

Drought? Well, its a weather thing, but I am sure that the republican response of "drill baby drill" to climate change probably isn't going to help the situation.

Disease? Well, cutbacks at places like the FDA and CDC probably will make any problems worse.

Oddly enough, they do. We normally think of telomeres (specialized proteins at the ends of linear chromosomes) "shrinking" by attrition as cells reproduce, but microgravity seems to have a stretching effect (not more, but individually longer). Upon return to normal gravity, telomeres "snap back," but overshoot just a bit. One doesn't lose telomeres as one would during mitosis, but the physical length (when unwound and laid flat) is indeed shorter than before a stay in low gravity.

One of those too-strange-to-be-true things that is nevertheless true. No one knows if this changes the rate of apoptosis or the number of time a cell can reproduce.

Fascinating.

Telomeres: The ends of each strand of DNA (also known as deoxyribonucleic acid; a nucleic acid in the cell’s chromosomes, containing the cell’s coded genetic instructions) have special features called telomeres. Telomeres protect our chromosomes, as plastic handles protect jump ropes. Telomere lengths tend to get shorter as we age; however, lifestyle factors, stresses and environmental exposures can also affect the rate at which this shortening occurs. One of the most striking discoveries from NASA’s Twins Study is that Scott experienced a change in telomere length dynamics during spaceflight and within days of landing. Results from this investigation may help to evaluate general health and identify potential long-term risks.

It shows how completely ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ out of touch he is.
NTM how outright dishonest in pretending that the criticism was of the generic substitutes themselves, and not of how the GOP's claim that the lower price of the bag was evidence of a Trump economic win just disregarded that there were generic substitutes (as well as fewer items) in the bag as compared to last year.

Somalification of America

Miller: What is their objective here? It’s the Somalification of America. When you see the state of Somalia, that’s what they want for America. It’s easier to rule over an empire of ashes than it is for the Democrat Party to rule over a functioning western high trust society with a strong middle class. Look how powerful the Democrat Party became in Minnesota once they flooded it with a 100,000 Somalians. Once the elections were decided, right, by clan rivalries and ethnic feuds, once that happened the Democrat party became permanently powerful in Minnesota. They became permanently powerful in the twin cities. That's their model for America, to make the whole country into a version of Somalia

◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ liar. There are only 190,000 Somalis in the entire US.
