He assumes everyone he doesn't like is lying and cheating and will get found out if they just get investigated. So he imagines the threat of being investigated will put put the frighteners on anyone. It's very much one of those "every accusation is a confession" things.

If he actually did investigate he might gain the beginnings of a clue about what he's talking about. That would be a step forward as he clearly has no idea right now.

All four of my kids have mortgages and it was hard to negotiate, involved a ton of paperwork and vetting and a good bit of money up front. I would suggest that if there are mortgages given to illegal aliens, they are uncommon, and restricted to those already well entrenched in the economy. It's not going to be the ones swimming to shore with their diseased cows!

My wife and I bought our house about 7-8 years ago and there's no ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ way that an illegal immigrant could make it through the process. They had our bank account information, SSN's, rental history, and just about anything else you could imagine. You'd have better luck getting blood from a stone.

I suspect that removing the strike-through bit would make that both more accurate and also more applicable to the right-wing. Hence why so many of them fall so easily for all that investigation hype they do, even when it's pretty blatantly nonsense.
