Of course! "Please, Mr President! Pull the rug out from under our lives!"No, they will pass the ideological test, won't they?
Breaking on MSNBC:Two federal prosecutors have been placed on leave at the direction of the White House after filing a sentencing memo seeking 27 months in prison for a pardoned Jan. 6 rioter who brought illegal guns and ammunition to President Obama's house in 2023.
I sincerely hope it is reinstated, although I'm afraid Trump and Co might well decide not to … What mechanism is there to ensure it is, and/or that that users get back pay ?
Lies are up, I see.Trump: In nine months we had lifted over 600,000 Americans off food stamps, and meanwhile energy prices are down, gasoline prices are down, grocery prices are down…
Much more like he was completely befuddled as usual these days and totally ◊◊◊◊◊◊ up all the facts in (what's left of) his mind when he spoke.![]()
Toyota denies promising to invest $10bn in US after Trump announcement
The US president claimed he had been told the carmaker was going to be setting up factories ‘all over’ the USwww.theguardian.com
Well, well, who'd have thought?
Looks like The Donald was lying!
I'm shocked! Shocked, I tell you!
I applaud your optimism, and I hope it is rewarded. We'll just have to see, won't we?
Personally, I'm just trying to think positive (which is hard to do with the fat clown running things into the ground), and hopefully the red states give him a hard time about it, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
Anyway, like I said, I think food banks will step it up, unlike the fat clown and his damn maga weirdoes. Some states are even going to try and pick up the gap, so there is hope.
I don't agree with this at all. He only has 1 year.... less than one year at this point....before he becomes a lame duck. He has absolutely pissed off every single independent, and even worse, every single actual real libertarian in this country. And by "real" libertarians, I don't mean those who profess themselves as libertarians because they have no actual clue what that even means. I mean ACTUAL libertarians who allied themselves with the GOP in the past (Reagan, both Bushes, McCain, and Romney), who all ran on the platform of "smaller government," even if they never actually delivered on such promises.Uhm, unfortunately we are past the waking up point. They had 8 years to wake up. Now it's to late. They (his voters, those who couldn't be bothered to vote and the SCOTUS) handed it to him. Now he has 4 years of unchecked powers, together with Mr. Galaxy Brain and other Billionaires.
Good luck with the waking-up thing. You might even consider to enjoy your quiet sleep for as long as you can still get it...
I applaud your optimism, and I hope it is rewarded.
However I'm rather cynical when it comes to governments taking their responsibility towards their constituents, especially when they know they can rely on private/local charities to step up (and blame them when it isn't enough, or accuse them to serve the wrong people, or to support wrong causes, etc.) :
In France, Coluche, a comedian, founded the food bank "Resto du Coeur" with the help of all kinds of French artists. That was 40 years ago and was supposed to be a temporary movement, intent on alerting people to food precariousness for part of the population and pressuring the government into taking measures. It is still on and serving more and more people, despite all the government promises, and despite our extended social security net … Our far right is of course calling it a leftist organisation serving mostly (muslim) immigrants, layabouts, and all kinds of social misfits, and the government is cautiously saying nothing outside platitudes …
Why will he be a lame duck when he has no intention of stepping down and can do whatever he wants?
Who will stop him?
Also, look at what he's done in less than a tear.
Things are accelerating, just think what it will be like in another year.
Trump's already promised to ban early-voting, mail-in ballots, etc. Plus, he's already occupying blue cities, with more troops to come. Add invoking the insurrection act, and voila, the mid-terms are cancelled. Why will he be a lame duck when he has no intention of stepping down and can do whatever he wants?
Who will stop him?

For what it's worth, the record number that was invoked was that 100% of new jobs were private sector jobs, rather than a record number of actual jobs, which would normally be the thing to brag about. He's doing the deceptive packaging thing here with that bit.Government jobs are going down because you slashed department after department. Did you already forget you did that? Something going wrong with your memory?
Private sector jobs, let's see these record numbers you're talking about. Sure, we'll wait.
Homeland Security
@DHSgov
Under the Biden Administration FEMA was weaponized into a political tool that discriminated against Trump supporters, who were hit by natural disasters.
FEMA employees deliberately avoided houses displaying support for President Trump and the Second Amendment, illegally collected and stored information about survivors’ political beliefs, and failed to report their malicious behavior.
We are TAKING ACTION to guarantee this NEVER happens again, and punishing those responsible
Speaker Mike Johnson reveals that Joe Biden wasn’t allowed to set his own meetings
His entire presidency was controlled by unnamed individuals in the shadows who gave him scripts and controlled him so closely they even told him which direction to wave
“I confronted him about it, by the way, the one meeting they allowed me to have with him as speaker”
Read that carefully “The one meeting they allowed me to have”
“There was a cover-up. The people around him, they would give him scripts to follow, they would point him literally in the direction, stand here sir, wave like this”
