Trump's Second Term

Exactly. He tried his utmost to mount an insurrection to overthrow the lawful transition of power, and he failed. Since then he's been deluding himself the vote was fixed, and the army of sycophants surrounding him don't dare contradict him.

He would already be king if he had been able to achieve his aims. Now he's having another try.

The fact that he failed the first time does not mean he's not a profoundly serious existential threat to the republic.

Of course he can - but you know there are those "checks and balances" which would stop someone even a President doing that.

For younger Americans: in the day before our Lord Trump's (may he live forever) accession to his throne there were meant to be "checks and balances" these were mythical and evil incarnate beings that people said would stop our Lord Trump (may he live forever) from fulfilling his divine purpose.

The US has become the laughing stock of the world. Or, I guess it's part laughter, part horror.
 
So, today Johnson says he doesn't know anything about Donald asking the DOJ to pay his legal bills, opening the American market to diseased Argentinian beef or that pardoned Jan. 6 rioter threatening to kill Hakeem Jeffries.

What does he know anything about?

That's as close to criticism as you're going to get.

It seems to me that Trump will not lose power because elections aren't going to be fair. This MAGA nightmare will only end when Trump passes. He's old, and I believe has had a stroke or two already. The nation's health will continue to diminish until Trump goes away.
One hope I have, though, is that MAGA/Republicans disintegrate without the Trump skat-glue holding power over them.
