Trump’s comment about copper being connected to glass (ie fibre optics) being a really stupid idea is arguably the most ridiculous comment he has ever uttered. And, yes I know there is a lot to beat.

I think my 9 year old granddaughter knows more about electronics than that ignoramus.

Indeed, with them it's completely the opposite. The reason you're not going to have any kind of medical insurance is because he and his friends want to get rich.

If this was in any way a reflection of reality instead of a stupid fairy tale, why is Trump employing people so incompetent that they discover they have an extra $31 billion lying around and don't know why it's there?

On a related note, it's very questionable whether anyone really knows what the Trump Administration is spending, including the Trump Administration. The numerous kinds of financial chaos that Trump and co have engaged in, from refusing to spend funds that they are legally mandated to spend in a specific way to the mass personnel changes that are largely firings and often expensive rehirings to their active obfuscation and lies gives real cause for suspicion on that front. It's actually plausible that they "found" $31 billion and that the finders weren't incompetent, but the only reason that it would have been lost in the first place is Trump's chaos and sabotage. That $31 billion could also have been "lost" by a Trump minion who was intending to try to embezzle it, of course, but failed this time. As for the whole tariff shelf thing, that sounds more like humoring an unreasonable old man, provided it wasn't made up wholesale.

I'm reading social media posts from people after the protest. There was a lot of activitya and lot of making fun of Trump. But a good number do not see a way out of this. We still have a lot of Trump supporters and it is only the swing states that might start moving left. But it is never going to go to the point where we have the senate votes to impeach. Who knows, Trump migh sue every single senator. What could they do to resist? They do not have the cash and Trump seems to get hundreds of millions from just asking.

The conclusion from many is that the constituion has failed. Putting all of the "state" under the president was a mistake. No emoluments clause is eve going to stop Trump.

We are unlikely to see any military action. Generals will just refuse and will then be fired. Evey general can be replaced by a new Hegseth.

I and most of our politicians do see the end: 2028. But too much destruction till then.

The Constitution hasn't failed - it has been captured.
Separation of Power only works when people with different incentives and priorities occupy different centers of power.

If we were facing a real crisis (like, climate change), every part of the State working together to deal with the problem unbureaucratically, willing to face the legal consequences later, we probably would say that the Constitution is working as planned.
Republicans in Congress and the Supreme Court want a King so they are getting one.
