It also kind of depends on who you are. Egypt is very very serious about security and safety of tourists in a way they might not be for everyday folks. And I suspect it's highly probable that an American in Egypt is less less likely to be abducted on the street by masked gunmen in armored government vehicles than an Egyptian in America.
