Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided a South Shore apartment building overnight as the city braces for a possible military deployment. "My building is shaking. So, I'm like, 'What is that?' Then I look out the window, it's a Blackhawk helicopter," said witness Dr. Alii Muhammad.

Neighbors like Eboni Watson say they ducked for cover as they heard several flash bangs. "They was terrified. The kids was crying. People was screaming. They looked very distraught. I was out there crying when I seen the little girl come around the corner, because they was bringing the kids down, too, had them zip tied to each other," Watson said. "That's all I kept asking. What is the morality? Where's the human? One of them literally laughed. He was standing right here. He said, 'f*** them kids.'" The military -- our final defense -- acts to remove trump from office. I'm pretty sure there is a zero percent chance of this happening. Many of our military leaders are pro-MAGA and will go along with it, while those who attempt any kind of resistance will be cashiered (or worse).

I hope it doesn't go that far that we have to find out. But at this point, I'm not pretty sure about anything. This is a new normal.

I think the expression is “whistling past the graveyard”. I’ve been skeptical of the claims that the U.S. press is complicit in this rapid move towards militarized authoritarianism, but it may be time to reconsider.

They report what people want to hear. Their viewers are overwhelming 60+. They give them crap, and always finish with a human-interest story for a happy ending. If you want a happy ending, go to an illicit massage parlor. PBS/NPR and BBC are my main news sources, they're still somewhat independent, but that may change.
 
Donald has not been seen in public since Tuesday and has no public events on his calendar today.
He's either ill or keeping his head down.
 
I spent a majority of my life outside the continental USA (US vet and citizen however) and have a British wife and know lots of foreigners who barrage me with email about what is going on in America. I've gotten use to telling them that, 'The United States of America the democracy is on pause', and we are now in, 'The United States of America (Goofy Edition)'.

This is horrible to watch, and frustrating, since the direction of the USS Project 2025 is so clear, but no one seems to be able to stop it, and those you thought possibly could, seem unwilling to do so. May Herr Ficklegruber, and his retinue, be gobbled up by a water hurricane, and spit out in the Antarctic Bottom Water.

Because as we all know, one of the first things illegal immigrants do once they manage to scrape ten thousand bucks together is buy Super Bowl tickets -but only if a Puerto Rican is doing the halftime show. :rolleyes:
