This reminds me of the stories that came out about "The Apprentice". Trump would fire contestants completely at random, regardless of their actual performance, and the production team would then have to heavily edit the footage for that episode to make the fired contestant look as bad as possible.


I'm not going to quote, since there were multiple posts about Hegseth' speech that included it, but it's been my understanding that using "female" as a noun instead of an adjective has become popular with people who intend it to be insulting and dehumanizing.

I think that's been going on for a while. My mother, who listens to right wing radio, tends to pick up speech and has been using "female" as a noun for years now whenever she disapproves of the hypothetical women in question.
