Trump's Second Term

What is it with the fixation on autism?
Is there any numbers that autism in the U.S. is higher than in other western countries?
And if so, might that come from the U.S. using lower bars for when someone is classified with autism?
They've increased a lot recently, but a lot of that is due to a combination of better diagnosis and reclassifying of what counts as autism.

There are indications that he confuses the term "asylum", as in "political asylum", with the term as used in "mental asylum". It's entirely possible that some of the people he wants to deport are political refugees.
I swear he means asylum seekers. He somehow got it in his thick head that means insane people who come seeking nicer mental asylums and nobody in his retinue dares correct him. Not joking.

That is what he's doing. He's conflating the two. It's entirely plausible that he was confused like that and that's how that line of BS got started. Honestly, though, at this point, I'm more inclined to believe that he knows and that he's doing it now more out of a combination of "strongman never admits he's wrong," "haha, you're all so dumb," and "manufactured excuses to bully people for social standing/to appear more dominant."

Is there evidence any of this happened?

Fairly certainly, no.

Of course the underlying context is probably, this is all related to trump personally despising Maduro and wanting to remove him from power. To show Maduro, you don't mess with trump! You just don't do it, amigo.

Despising Maduro? Maybe. I'm more inclined to believe that Trump wants to try the Russian playbook, though (far from unique to them in history, of course). Be a conqueror to get the people to ignore how incredibly terrible he is and thus prop up his extreme unpopularity. Venezuela likely looks more like a quick and easy win and safe target to him than actually having some real problem. This is along the same general line as why he's been trying to get Greenland, Canada, etc to be subject to the US.

Can this get any more insane? Yes, it definitely can. I think the time has come for trump to be removed from office. He's becoming too dangerous, too uncontrollable, too irrational.

It certainly can, especially if they try to push the "We're at war! It's your patriotic duty to support your country so no bad press or complaints allowed or we'll treat you as treasonous" angle.

...Venezuela likely looks more like a quick and easy win and safe target to him than actually having some real problem...

But how would this play out? Would the US somehow takeover Venezuela? Or just see to it that leader(s) we like are installed? Would this involve US military forces invading Venezuela to take physical control of the country during the 'transition' phase. Or primarily bombardment from air and sea? But how could the US orchestrate the transition to a post-Maduro era unless we have boots on the ground?

I don't think that Trump cares, honestly. He just wants the "win." As I've poked at before, Trump was repeatedly dissuaded from invading Venezuela during his first term by the mildly rational adults in his Administration. Now? There's a lot less mildly rational adults and a lot more sycophants, and this seems to be heading in an entirely predictable way.

We're going to find out!

Reporter: Are you ruling out troops on the ground to get Bagram back?

Trump: We won’t talk about that. We are talking now to Afghanistan and we want it back and want it back soon, right away and if they don't, you are going to find out what I'm going to do

Markwayne Mullin: "When 97% of the news stories are negative about him & 99% about Pete Hegseth are negative, it is cheating, bc you're putting out a narrative that isn't true... there's a thin line between free speech & when it crosses a line and causes violence. And when you start calling someone fascist ... "

Yesterday trump posted a warning to Venezuela on his social media platform as reported by numerous news media:
“GET THEM THE HELL OUT OF OUR COUNTRY, RIGHT NOW, OR THE PRICE YOU PAY WILL BE INCALCULABLE! ” he said on his Truth Social platform on Saturday. He insisted that Venezuela had “forced” such people into the US and claimed without evidence that “thousands of people have been badly hurt, and even killed, by these ‘Monsters.'”

An incalculable price? It almost sounds like trump is threatening a nuclear strike. Even more confusing, I could not find any news sources reporting Venezuela is refusing to accept deportees from the US. Just the opposite, Venezuela does accept deportees. But rereading what trump posted, it seems like what he is actually demanding is for Venezuela to somehow force the return of their citizens -- primarily gang members -- who had earlier been "forced" by Venezuela to enter the United States.
He means that he will hit them with tariffs so high that even the greatest mathematicians and economists can't calculate them, a number that hadn't even been discovered yet, but he discovered it, and those mathematicians and economists are on their knees with tears in their eyes thanking him!

It'd actually be nice if he only wrecked them like he "wrecked" Turkey's economy after he betrayed the Kurds to them. I.E. did nothing of note and only for a couple days.

No, more likely just something he would need to take his shoes and socks off to count.

He's completely confused autism and antifa. He's going to get Horman to deport autism now.

If everyone with autism gets deported, then the US will have no autism and he will have cured the problem. It's just like when he didn't want COVID sufferers removed from that cruise ship in California because it would make the US' infection numbers go up and make him look bad even though it wasn't his fault.

He doesn't need people to feed him stupid things to say.

President Trump, "The name of the King at the time was William the Conqueror"

"I said that's the coolest name I ever heard. And he built this massive castle. He was known for winning wars"

"In fact I asked King Charles: why don't we call you Charles the Conqueror?"

"He said: no, I don't think so"
