Trump's Second Term

Has he thought of the forces and logistics he would have to commit to defend the base?

I'm going to venture no, he hasn't thought beyond;
1) Dept of Attacking Everything says it sure would be convenient if we still had an operating air base around there.
2) Leave it to me. I'll threaten them and if they don't cave in I'll sue them.

My cousin and her adult daughter (my second cousin) share a condo on the edge of where the fire stopped at Pacific Palisades. Their condo would have burned but the roofing material resisted burning. There were a couple spots that burned through the roof and dozens of places where embers burned spots but no fire was able to start. It took a couple weeks before they could move back in and I have watched the recovery on their facebook pages. My second cousin walks around with her camera taking pictures of the businesses and houses going back up along with both of them giving a commentary of the progress.

No one is building anything other than replacing what was already there. Definitely there is no low income project going up. Pacific Palisades is on the bluff overlooking Malibu Beach, all of it some of the most expensive land in Southern California.
Slight nitpick, but if your cousin is your first cousin then her daughter is your first cousin once removed. To be second cousins the siblings that created the family lines that lead to ye need to be your grandpatent and your cousin's* grandparent.

Your cousin's daughter would only be your second cousin if her parent's parent is or was sibling to your grandmother. If the situation is reversed then you're first cousins twice removed.

Sorry, I get a bit nerdy about these kinds of things.

*Edit: I mean the daughter here. If youself and the mother were related at grandparent level her daughter would be second cousin once removed to you.

It'll be their clerk reading it.
My guess is some office junior got an AI to write it, prompting it to purple it up and inflate it to scores of pages, expecting that later someone else's office junior would get another AI to produce an executive summary, of which nobody would read anything but the precis.

It's the modern way. The document itself need never be human-readable as it's not for reading, it's for intimidation. Alas for Trump his lawyers don't appear to be sharp enough to know such vexatious ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ is stuff judges are armed against.

Trailing his big announcement again

Trump: I think we have a bigger announcement coming I hope on Monday, Marty… it's so big. We can't let people keep doing this. I don't want to wait any longer. If it's wrong -- it's not going to be wrong but if it is wrong, it's fine…. we're going to have an announcement on autism

<bad taste - deleted>

Don't get any hopes up for solid scientific evidence, whatever it turns out to be.

He's been repeating it for months, claiming several countries have emptied their "lunatic asylums" and deliberately sending the inmates, especially the criminal ones, to the USA.
And of course, none of his minders or his sycophants will ever correct him because as with the cats'n'dogs-eating immigrants, the narrative is much too useful to be discarded.
That, and if the exchange about the MS13 tattoos is anything to go by, once an idea is lodged in what passes for Trump's brain, there's no shifting it.

Pachinko balls. They tip him over each night, and the same thoughts tinkle down slowly, again and again, through his spongiform brain.

He's completely confused autism and antifa. He's going to get Horman to deport autism now.

I

And I think that just keeping you head down and doing nothing..which is what the poster said....is no solution.
Great so how about you Americans get off your asses, take some responsibility for the situation and do something about it.
Guy, I supsect you never liked the United States very much even before Trump. z
Ooh strike one, care to take another swing?
And I am getting a OH we Euros are so superiot to you stupid americans attituse from a number of poster here.
And that's strike two.

if you think Euros are somehow immune to somebody like Trump gettng in power..

Ooh and now somewhataboutism.

I am horrified at the choice the voters made in November as much as anybody. But like it or not, yhou outside the US are going to have decide how to deal with Trump, and I suggest stroking his ego and baiscally kissing his butt is not going to end well for you.

And strike three. Please get it into your head that the rest of the world is under no obligation to anger the deranged egomaniac to fix the problem your country created. And its funny that you claim to hate Trump while making a post that he would probably nod along with.

And you damn well if the pM were a Tory doing the same thing some of people defending the UK goverment's action would be loudly condeming it.
And?

The job description is simple. They all know it:
ronaldfilipkowski
What he is saying quite clearly is that Pam Bondi must indict several of his long-time political enemies immediately or she will be fired and replaced by someone who will.

Erik Siebert, who had been the office’s top prosecutor, resigned amid a push by Trump administration officials to bring charges in the investigation, which stems from allegations of paperwork discrepancies on James’ Brooklyn townhouse and a Virginia home.

The Justice Department has spent months investigating, and there’s been no indication that prosecutors have managed to uncover any degree of incriminating evidence necessary to secure an indictment. James’ lawyers have vigorously denied any allegations and characterized the investigation as an act of political revenge.

Halligan has been part of Trump’s legal orbit for the last several years, including serving as one of his attorneys in the early days of the FBI’s investigation into Trump’s retention of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. She has more recently been enlisted in a White House effort to remove what the administration contends is “improper ideology” from Smithsonian properties.

Earlier Saturday, Trump posted to social media what appeared to be somewhat of an open letter to Bondi, saying he had “reviewed over 30 statements and posts” that he characterized as criticizing his administration for a lack of action on investigations, including the one into James' dealings. Trump's message mentioned former FBI Director James Comey, Trump's longtime foil whom he fired during his first term amid the Russia election interference investigation.

“We have to act fast — one way or the other,” Trump said. "They’re guilty, they’re not guilty — we have to act fast. If they’re not guilty, that’s fine. If they are guilty or if they should be charged, they should be charged. And we have to do it now.”

In announcing Halligan's nomination soon after on social media, Trump said that Bondi was “doing a GREAT job.”

Trump hasn't reviewed a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ thing. His Totenkopf flunkies have, and then told Donny in a lucid waking moment what they wanted him to say.

Yesterday trump posted a warning to Venezuela on his social media platform as reported by numerous news media:
“GET THEM THE HELL OUT OF OUR COUNTRY, RIGHT NOW, OR THE PRICE YOU PAY WILL BE INCALCULABLE!” he said on his Truth Social platform on Saturday. He insisted that Venezuela had “forced” such people into the US and claimed without evidence that “thousands of people have been badly hurt, and even killed, by these ‘Monsters.'”
An incalculable price? It almost sounds like trump is threatening a nuclear strike. Even more confusing, I could not find any news sources reporting Venezuela is refusing to accept deportees from the US. Just the opposite, Venezuela does accept deportees. But rereading what trump posted, it seems like what he is actually demanding is for Venezuela to somehow force the return of their citizens -- primarily gang members -- who had earlier been "forced" by Venezuela to enter the United States.

Is there evidence any of this happened?

Of course the underlying context is probably, this is all related to trump personally despising Maduro and wanting to remove him from power. To show Maduro, you don't mess with trump! You just don't do it, amigo.

Can this get any more insane? Yes, it definitely can. I think the time has come for trump to be removed from office. He's becoming too dangerous, too uncontrollable, too irrational.

One huge problem is the magamutt base. They must be loving this. I'm sure many of them would be enthralled if the US launched a nuclear attack on Venezuela. But if the US did that, what are the chances another nuclear power would decide trump had become a danger to humanity and launch a preemptive nuclear strike on Washington aimed at killing trump and his people. In his first term some world leaders -- I think especially China -- were reported to be worried that trump was becoming increasingly irrational and wondered if trump might launch a nuclear attack against...somebody. I don't think most of the world see trump as a rational person. They wonder, what could he be capable of?

Oh boy.

What is it with the fixation on autism?
Is there any numbers that autism in the U.S. is higher than in other western countries?
And if so, might that come from the U.S. using lower bars for when someone is classified with autism?
