The guy who said- in the same damn interview- that ""We have actually more power in DC... I can do whatever I want," now says that he had to get Pelosi to agree to the 10,000 troops on Jan 6 before he could dispatch them? I guess the obvious conclusion is that he didn't want that particular episode of mass lawlessness to be stopped, because it was his radicals doing it (and probably also because it made great TV).

A guy in our neighborhood that flies a football flag all fall and an American flag all major holidays is flying his flag half mast for Kirk. He has not been putting Trump signs out in the yard ever. I talked to him once or twice, mostly about furnaces.

I'm done being mad about how horrible he is. I agree with the people who say we need to direct that anger at the people who support him. You know, the people who will handwave hateful messages and acts of violence and then clutch their pearls the minute a progressive or moderate steps the tiniest bit out of line. The people who cheer the dismantling of democracy. Call them out, hold them accountable.

My blood is boiling over his followers and the media that praises him and covers for him.

There are quite a few College and University administrators who don't really like their students, and are perfectly happy to have Trump "force" them to turn on those students. Same with a lot of companies as well. If the people at the top of the organization actually like the direction MAGA is "pushing" them, their desire to resist can be muted if not non-existent.

Our leaders would never admit in public that this is a move away from the US, but it's basically an open "secret". $9 billion is not a lot in itself for the US arms industry but if this is a general trend across Europe, the "savings" on halting aid to Ukraine will be peanuts compared to a long term loss of future contracts.

It also helps that the Aster system is slightly cheaper per missile than the Patriot system. The Ukraine conflict has made it glaringly obvious that cost effectiveness is a huge issue in future drone conflict. No one wants to pay a premium to deal with Trump.

If I've read what was said correctly, the guy said truthful and reasonable things in the bit he was fired over, whatever other problems he may have. Maybe it was the fact that he wasn't jumping to conclusions to condemn Democratic Party leaders that was the problem. Nevermind that Republican propaganda is often at least an order of magnitude worse.

My response is simply that it doesn't matter what Trump says and that there's no good reason to play along with this farce where Kirk is getting all this attention and the nigh constant murders of far, far better and more deserving people (which Kirk condoned) are ignored.
