Trump's Second Term

i think this is also one of those things that has potential to turn into a big deal. like, what if they just killed some people in a boat
What if? They seem to literally view Dump's actions and words as those of God at the moment. Whatever he does is good by definition, whatever he says is true, and the parts they don't like or have to admit weren't true after all were obviously just metaphors. They also have a strong aversion to communicating their faith with outsiders, so they'll just resort to insults, whataboutisms, and (feigned) ignorance whenever their God (be it the one in the sky or the one wearing more spraytan than a 13 year old girl) is questioned.

what i mean is that if things go a certain way, imo if there's any hope for a return to a functional nation, this is one of those things for which there has to be a reckoning.
Ah. Well, yeah, I agree with that, I suppose. I enjoy the thought of Nuremberg trials after this regime, too.

It is becoming clear that Steve Bannon does not like Elon Musk. Newsweek from yesterday:

Recently Bannon said if Musk didn't stop pushing H-1B visas he, Bannon, would "rip his face off." Stevo is continuing with the physical threats, too, saying yesterday that Musk "can't take a punch" and has "a glass jaw."

Yet if it ever came down to it -- an actual exchange of blows between the two -- somehow I don't think my money would be on Bannon.
OOHHH! A celebrity death match between old man Bannon and Elon Musk!

You don't know "old man strength," and Musk is a weenie. My money would go on Steve Bannon! :D

DOJ Deputy Chief Joseph Schnitt was caught on a hidden camera saying the government will “redact every Republican” from the Epstein files and leave only the Democrats.

He also revealed that Ghislaine Maxwell was transferred to a minimum security prison against BOP policy since she is a convicted sex offender “to keep her mouth shut.”

We're supposed to deal with another 3.5 years of this ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊?

Looks funny. Are we sure that's not AI?

The only surprising thing is that they didn't do it from the start …

How a Top Secret SEAL Team 6 Mission Into North Korea Fell Apart

How a Top Secret SEAL Team 6 Mission Into North Korea Fell Apart

The 2019 operation, greenlit by President Trump, sought a strategic edge. It left unarmed North Koreans dead.

A group of Navy SEALs emerged from the ink-black ocean on a winter night in early 2019 and crept to a rocky shore in North Korea. They were on a top secret mission so complex and consequential that everything had to go exactly right.

The objective was to plant an electronic device that would let the United States intercept the communications of North Korea’s reclusive leader, Kim Jong-un, amid high-level nuclear talks with President Trump.

The mission had the potential to provide the United States with a stream of valuable intelligence. But it meant putting American commandos on North Korean soil — a move that, if detected, not only could sink negotiations but also could lead to a hostage crisis or an escalating conflict with a nuclear-armed foe.

It was so risky that it required the president’s direct approval.

For the operation, the military chose SEAL Team 6’s Red Squadron — the same unit that killed Osama bin Laden. The SEALs rehearsed for months, aware that every move needed to be perfect. But when they reached what they thought was a deserted shore that night, wearing black wet suits and night-vision goggles, the mission swiftly unraveled.

A North Korean boat appeared out of the dark. Flashlights from the bow swept over the water. Fearing that they had been spotted, the SEALs opened fire. Within seconds, everyone on the North Korean boat was dead.

The SEALs retreated into the sea without planting the listening device.
There's a lot more in the link, but:

TL/DR: In 2019, Schitler sent top-secret Navy Seals mission to plant listening device in North Korea. Mission failed, NK people killed. Could have been a much biger disaster.

Just another example of no matter how much or how often you bribe Trump, he won't love you.

Hundreds of people including South Korean workers were arrested in an immigration raid at a Hyundai Motor battery plant under construction in Georgia, weeks after the carmaker pledged $26 billion in U.S. investments.

"Among those detained were South Korean employees on business travel...."The raid could raise concerns for South Korean companies that are sending personnel to the US and hiring locally."

Department of Defense now Department of War, at least unofficially. This is very concerning.
Wait until it's rebranded the Trump Department of War....

A lot of us on the left rolled our eyes back in the '80s and '90s (and doubtless in the '60s and '70s but I was too young to pay too much attention to that kind of thing) that America had a Department of Defense when they were involved in so many conflicts - both directly and through proxies - in an offensive capacity. At least now the branding would be in line with the mission now.

Yeah. Hegseth is blustering for now, but when he has to give a real answer rather than a tough guy soundbite, he might struggle. I mean, they really, literally did just kill some people in a boat. The question is whether they can complete the sentence "That wasn't murder because..." in a way that stands up in court.
