Trump's Second Term

It was always thus. The best way to fight fascism is to deny them a platform.
TragicMonkey's alternative has been rather effective in the past, of course, but yes, the "best" way to fight something can be said to be to prevent the thing from gaining the power to fight in the first place.

Also, just because, I feel like poking at the guest topic selection at the end. The right winger declared that Birthright citizenship should be ended as their choice of debate topic. Their argument for why pretty much came down to... 1) It can be abused and 2) people don't appreciate their citizenship enough. Both of those are rather easily defensible points, in and of themselves. I can certainly agree. It's just that both are so shallow and are more akin to declaring that we should think only of how big that molehill is and ignore the mountain. Whatever system he may even try to propose to replace it will also be able to be abused and striving to creating appreciation for something by causing massive harm by taking it away isn't something praiseworthy. In reality, the means shape the actual end, after all.

BREAKING: The Writers Guild calls on New York Attorney General Letitia James to launch an investigation into the allegations that “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" was cancelled because he criticized Paramount Global's "bribe" to Donald Trump.

On Monday, Colbert unleashed a fiery monologue attacking Paramount for paying Trump $16 million to settle a sham lawsuit over a "60 Minutes" interview with Kamala Harris in 2024. The suit was widely seen as a blatant act of presidential extortion on Trump's part, because at the same time Paramount is trying to obtain permission from Trump’s Federal Communications Commission for a merger with Skydance Media. The merger is estimated to be worth $28 billion.

Trump himself had previously called for Colbert to be fired and celebrated the cancellation on Truth Social, writing: "I absolutely love that Colbert’ got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings."

Attorney General James must get to the bottom of this corruption. Trump is abusing the powers of presidency to stomp out his political enemies and if this goes unanswered, our nation's slide into full-blown authoritarianism will only accelerate.

MILLER: If you look at photos of the Empire State Building being built, you don’t see any illegal aliens. When you look at the photos of the NASA control room during the moon landing, you don’t see any illegal aliens.

Harvard and Obama judges.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump

The Harvard case was just tried in Massachusetts before an Obama appointed Judge. She is a TOTAL DISASTER, which I say even before hearing her Ruling. She has systematically taken over the various Harvard cases, and is an automatic "loss" for the People of our Country! Harvard has $52 Billion Dollars sitting in the Bank, and yet they are anti-Semitic, anti-Christian, and anti-America. Much of this money comes from the U.S.A., all to the detriment of other Schools, Colleges, and Institutions, and we are not going to allow this unfair situation to happen any longer. How did this Trump-hating Judge get these cases? When she rules against us, we will IMMEDIATELY appeal, and WIN. Also, the Government will stop the practice of giving many Billions of Dollars to Harvard, much of which had been given without explanation. It is a longtime commitment to Fairness in Funding Education, and the Trump Administration will not stop until there is VICTORY. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Reporter: Was the President serious when he said might block a Washington Commanders stadium deal if they don’t change their name?

Leavitt: The President was serious… Sports is one of his many passions… He likes to see results on behalf of the American people.

I really have come to despise the state of modern mainstream “reporting.”

“Was the president serious?” Seriously?! What a drool-level question no matter how you look at it. Jesus.

I swear Donald Trump's major strength is his complete lack of shame.
It is. And just his, it's the main feature of all recent populist. And so far the limit, how far they can boldly go, has not been found. As long as you don't admit a mistake, you're fine. Your base wants you to be perfect. Just don't argue with them about it.

I wish journalists would quit asking if he was serious. What a bull**** question.

The White House press corps should draw straws to see what unlucky peer has press conference duty that day. Then the others are free to do a more meaningful story, like asking Native Americans if they agree with Trump.

To give Trump all due credit he is very high functioning when compared to coma patients.

Well, when compared to most coma patients.

Are you sure? Seems to me all coma patients, afaict, have managed not to try to turn the US into a totalitarian state, imitating North Korea, something Trump seems quite unable to avoid.

Hey Miller. What does an "illegal alien" even look like that you can distinguish them by sight? Do you actually mean "brown person"? Yeah, I think you do...! ;)

Also, re NASA and "illegal aliens"... Do you mean the enemy alien Nazi in the suit?
