Trump's Second Term

I first posted this in the TV section, but I'm also posting it here because it reeks of politics and Trump.

CBS will end "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and retire "The Late Show" franchise in May 2026, the company announced Thursday, calling it "purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night."

CBS called Colbert irreplaceable and said the show's ending was "not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount," CBS' parent company.

"We are proud that Stephen called CBS home," the network said in a statement. "He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television."

Colbert broke the news to the audience during Thursday's taping, saying he found out last night that next year will be the show's final season.

The audience responded with an outcry of "No!" and boos, and Colbert said, "Yeah, I share your feelings."

Purely a business decision, nothing to do with politics, right? RIGHT?

BULL-◊◊◊◊!

Thursday's show features an interview with Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff of California. Schiff posted about the show's cancellation on social media, writing, "If Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better."

Colbert has been an outspoken critic of President Trump and recently criticized Paramount's decision to settle a lawsuit with Mr. Trump for $16 million over the editing of a "60 Minutes" interview — a lawsuit Paramount has maintained was completely without merit.

Paramount is aiming to finalize an $8.4 billion merger with Skydance Media, which requires approval from the Federal Communications Commission.

Wait, is this real?
I'd be surprised. It's kinda good. The textures on the houses done with different line thickness .. very nice. On the other hand, pro would probably fit the image on the paper. So either it's pro trying to do amateur doodle, or we lost a talented artist in Trump. No counting con artist obviously ..

The switch to whatever are the "grand jury" papers is very telling. Previously I was of the opinion there would have been a lot of hearsay and the like in "the files", nothing that people didn't already know and could have worked out with ten minutes search through "Hello" and "OK" archives.

I wonder how many Jeffrey Epstein hits Trump's browser shows him if he simply searches the words "Hello" or "OK".

Colbert has the highest ratings of any late night host.

He thinks a competency test is an IQ test.

Trump: "AOC -- look. I think she's very nice. But she's very low IQ, and we really don't need low IQ. Between her and Crockett, we're gonna give 'em both an IQ test to see who comes out best. I took a real test at Walter Reed medical center and I aced it. Now it's time for them to take a test."

He's comparing a dementia test he probably failed with an IQ test?

You know who else was an artist...:duck:

"PAST supporters" he calls those that don't think it's a hoax.

How are they so easily able to see through the ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ of this but not every other time he was as transparently lying?
They're not able to see through this bovine excrement, they're just so fixated on the last stuff they can't move past it.

Hey CBS: Trump is never, ever gonna love you.

(Colbert show to end in 2025)
Colbert has the highest ratings of any late night host.
(I posted a more complete response in the thread created in the 'TV section')

Colbert does have the highest overall ratings, but he's losing in the 18-49 demographics. Plus, ratings for late night shows in general have been stagnant for a long time, so he's doing the best of a struggling lot.

It may have been a political decision to cancel colbert to appease trump, but it may have been a legitimate business decision.

Not so much if you're a malignant narcissist with little time left and plenty of grifted money to see you through and who's happy for the world to burn provided the last word screamed across the ashes is your name.
Or unless you are a malignant narcissist who believes in the fantasy success story you have concocted. Listen to him talk if you can stand it. Trump talks about how great he is yadda yadda. That would be a ridiculous lie if he were consciously trying to cover up that he knows the world is burning. It's one reason he's so frustrated about his ties to Epstein, no one is letting it go and it's making it harder for him to fade back into his fantasy world in his head. He wants to believe he always hated Epstein.

I do think that he believes his lies. He's the hero of every story, his entire life has taught him that he is the main character.
