Why will we never know? We might be able to start chipping away in the off-year election and maybe a few of these GOP legislators will chicken out and stop kissing Trump's ass before the midterms..

I think it a bit excessive to equate Reagan with Lincoln, but in the popular mind they're both credited with ending something, and I'm sure Trump can join the procession for more than just immigration. He is, after all, doing a pretty good job on freedom, prosperity, health and democracy too.

So I don't get what the supposed "hoax" is supposed to be in the Epstein case. It's a hoax that the files exist? Wtf was Bondi talking about with her hours of video or thousands of pages or whatever? Do they not understand words can be preserved, and checked against whatever it is you say later?

In whatever is released, redactions will probably outweigh actual text. It will be necessary to avoid protracted litigation no one wants. Even if you only took a ride on Epstein's plane, well, your career may well be over. That doesn't apply to Trump, of course ... unless his supporters tie together everything they KNOW about Trump and realize that even if he never took Epstein's (jail)bait, he is still an adjudicated sex abuser, self-admitted pussy grabber, and very "handsy" with his own daughter(s). (There is pretty remarkable footage showing Ivanka and possibly Tiffany taking evasive action ON THE STAGE as his hand slipped down to their butts or up to their chests as he embraced them. I think it was at a nominating convention but I'm not sure which one.) All the things he said about "dating" Ivanka and her being "a piece of ass." I wonder if all that will have any cumulative effect as it surfaces in the minds of the vast majority of his supporters, who have been suppressing that knowledge for years, or pretending hair-sniffing is somehow worse.

Oh, and walking into young women's dressing rooms because "I own the pageant, I can inspect anything." Oh, he was doing some inspecting, all right.

Back during Trump 1.0 when Mueller completed his report he found all sorts of evidence that Russia helped get Trump elected. But AG Barr didn't release the report right away, instead he covered up for Trump with one of those "nothing to see here" comments. By the time reporters actually had access to the full report, Trump had moved on with a gazillion distractions. Not many people paid the attention to it they should have.

Maurene Comey, the federal prosecutor who worked on both Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's criminal cases, was fired on Wednesday, multiple outlets reported.

The big picture: It was not immediately clear why Maurene Comey was dismissed from her job, but her firing is notable because she is the daughter of former FBI director James Comey, who was fired by President Trump during his first term.
