It was invented by Lynton Crosby who masterminded many a Liberal dirty tricks campaign. He didn't talk about it openly, of course. It only came out later.

I realize what's going on now is like throwing mud on a muddy sidewalk. Obviously he didn't start at zero. He has always been dangerous but now add crazy to that. It is worse.

I don't think 'lying' is really the right term, Trump's lived his entire life in a bubble of wealth surrounded by sychophants paid to agree with him and then go away and work on a sane washed version of whatever crap he spouted. Even at his best he's like a five year Old making up explanations on the spot for things he doesn't understand and simply assuming he's right because his paid mommy and daddy surrogates smile and tell him how clever be is. Trump can't 'lie' in the normal sense of the word as he literally can't comprehend that anything he says isn't right.
 
Can we please Means Test the ICE raids, detentions and deportations ?
I would be surprised if Trump's way of doing migration costs less than $20,000 per person to be removed, probably a lot more.

Problem is, Trump has always spoken in a childlike way. His supporters love it, as he speaks just like them, 'Losers', etc., and then there's Trump the stand-up comedian, who people think is hilarious because he makes them laugh so loudly:

Then there's his impersonations of people with cerebral palsy and open misogyny and racism. It is increasingly hard to separate the real Donald Trump from the current one. A better assessment of his cognitive ability is perhaps to look at dementia-associated traits such as gait, balance and sundowning. Whilst long boring speeches and church services are enough to make anyone nod off, being head of state live on camera, it is not a good look to be seen dozing off. So I'd say, Trump's inability to stay awake is a sign. Plus he does seem to have problems with his gait, although that could be due to being overweight. I note he rarely travels outside the White House these days, when one would expect a head of state to travel a lot.

Quite true. My point was that he doesn't care, because he has never had to face consequences.
