Trump's Second Term

With Trump's mindset and his slavering base, it's only a matter of time before someone around him reads Stephen King's "The Running Man," puts it together with all those worthless immigrants in his concentration camps, and tells him "sir, this really would make great TV!" He will never, of course, read the book himself, but he might see the movie coming out later this year, and decide on his own that there's real potential there to make some money.

Sometimes I wonder if someone in his team read Steven Bury's "Interface"

He's probably seen the 1987 Schwarzenegger version and envisions himself as that old woman in the audience who keeps winning prizes.

I recently watched a video about how the 1987 movie was chillingly accurate in its predictions about the rise of reality TV and the role of corporate media in manipulating public opinion and manufacturing people for the public to love and hate.
People tend to ignore that message and focus on the explosions and one-liners.

There's a new version of it coming out. I wonder it's it's going to have a satirical bent, but it could go either way.

Based on the trailer, it's a much more faithful adaptation of the novel, and based on a couple scenes in the trailer, there's a good chance it uses the ending of the novel.

Either or, if Trump hears about it, and the chances are high he will, it will be banned in the USA. Or deported. Or sent to Alligator Alcatraz and have its citizenship revoked. In two weeks.

I'm pretty sure Mr Beast is already doing this.

The BBC reported, "[DHS Secretary Kristi] Noem says that the facility [Alligator Alcatraz] will be funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema), which is responsible for disaster co-ordination." CNN reported, "“Alligator Alcatraz” is expected to cost $450 million to operate for a single year, according to one DHS official who told CNN Florida will front the costs of the facility and then “submit reimbursement requests” through FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security."

I suppose it makes some kind of sense for FEMA to fund it, it certainly is a disaster.

So now that the god awful bill has cleared the senate, and looks to be heading to his desk to be signed, I have a new conspiracy theory. Once signed, Vance under directions from Theil and other tech billionaires will run a trial balloon on 25thing 47. If it looks to get positive support in both legislative chambers, he'll press it for real. The 1% have what they wanted and have no more need for Trump, and Vance will be a more stable and controllable minion.

What would it take to falsify your prediction?

So not going to be as good as the Arnie version

Transgender swimming champion Lia Thomas will have her records and titles stripped after UPenn was pressured by the Trump administration.

The university will also issue formal apologies to every biological female competitor who lost out to a transgender competitor.

Ah, sweet victory for the anti-Trans crowd. All it cost was their future, their brain, and their soul.
