Trump's Second Term

While a President does have a "Big Red Button" of sorts, it still has to go through a few layers before a launch is performed. The high-ranking military person in charge could put a halt to it. (This is much simplified.)
None of whom have the authority to countermand it.
Could the military people (in theory) claim that they swore an oath to defend the US against "All enemies foreign and domestic", and a president who is launching a nuclear first strike for personal reasons is engaging in an activities that make them an enemy?

Or, if they cannot countermand the order, could they at least slow-walk it, hopefully giving a chance for saner heads to prevail and remove him from office via the impeachment or the 25th amendment?

"The president has just ordered us to drop nuclear bombs on Canada and the EU because the Canadian PM hurt his feelings. We will get right on that... in 2 weeks."

Trump says ‘extremely hard’ to make a deal with China’s Xi as trade stalemate fuels calls for leaders to talk
U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that it was “extremely hard” to make a deal with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, at a time when the White House has been suggesting the two leaders could talk this week amid rising trade tensions.

Scott Bessent, U.S. treasury secretary, said Thursday stateside that trade talks were “a bit stalled,” and the two countries’ leaders would likely need to weigh in. On Monday, a senior White House official told CNBC that Trump and Xi were likely to speak this week.

It remained unclear whether such a call had been arranged.

“I like President XI of China, always have, and always will, but he is VERY TOUGH, AND EXTREMELY HARD TO MAKE A DEAL WITH!!!,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Idiot.

No one knows, and asking that kind of question gets people run out of being in the nuclear chain of authority.

I mean you could say the same kind of things about being ordered to torture detainees but no one seemed to give much kick back on those orders during Bush II.

Comer: "If these executive orders were just done and authorized by staff, and Joe Biden's signature was forged on the autopen as some would believe, then I think the Trump administration is gonna have a pretty good standing in court to get rid of a lot of these executive orders."

I don't know why people accuse this administration of being racist.

CNN anchor Abby Phillip torched President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth for erasing “women and people of color” from history while honoring “Confederate traitors.”

News broke Tuesday that Hegseth has ordered the renaming of a ship that honored Navy veteran and Civil Rights icon Harvey Milk, and is considering doing the same for ships honoring Thurgood Marshall, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Harriet Tubman, Dolores Huerta, Lucy Stone, Cesar Chavez, Medgar Evers, and others. On Tuesday night’s edition of CNN NewsNight, Phillip was joined by a panel consisting of Cornel West, Joe Borelli, Xochitl Hinojosa, and Shermichael Singleton.
A stunned Phillip connected the series of decisions to Trump’s history of comments defending Confederate figures and asked “What are we doing here?”:

PHILLIP: I mean, Harriet Tubman, talk about warrior ethos.

WEST: Absolutely.

PHILLIP: Okay?

SINGLETON: Gun toting, you know, I’m a gun person.

PHILLIP: I mean —

(CROSSTALKS)

PHILLIP: I mean, what are we doing here? Is the idea just that if you are a woman, if you are a person of color in American history, you don’t get remembered or recorded on a ship. But if you are a Confederate traitor to this country, you do. I mean, Donald Trump back in 2017 said it was sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments. You can’t change history, but you can learn from it. Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, I mean, that’s worth defending, but not Harriet Tubman, Thurgood Marshall, Medgar Evers?

SINGLETON: Medgar Evers, Harriet Tubman, I think their names should stay on the ships. I mean, these were incredible Americans who withstood insurmountable odds, I mean, certainly things that, hell, I certainly couldn’t imagine today, Abby, in the modern sense. And I would argue, you know, thinking about the warrior ethos, particularly Harriet Tubman, I mean, this is someone who I think really embodies what you would want in a warrior, someone with a level of courage and magnanimity. You talked about this once before, Doctor, a couple years ago. And so I would certainly think she would be someone who would instill the sense of pride and fearlessness you would want in your warriors.

I’m not exactly sure why the secretary is making this decision. I know he says he wants to move in a different direction. But those three individuals in particular, I think we should leave their names on the ship.

"If"

Ah, but can Trump issue an executive order that invalidates his own executive orders, including that one?

But of course!

Remember he is a Jedi-level stable genius of The Twelve Dimensional Chess Weave and we must all just marvel at what wonders it will achieve, if only we can perceive said wonders. If we can't, that is merely a failing of our miserable excuses for minds.

TACO Belle informed the press that th CBO is comprised of all Democrats. I'm sure the White House will provide evidence of this in two weeks.

KENNEDY: If Vietnam came to you and said, 'You win. We're gonna remove all tariffs and all trade barriers. Would the US please do the same?" Would you accept that deal?LUTNICK: Absolutely not. That would be the silliest thing we could doKENNEDY: What's the purpose of reciprocity then?

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has ordered the secretary of the Navy to rename the oiler ship USNS Harvey Milk, according to a defense official.

The ship, which was launched in 2021 and named after the gay rights activist and Navy veteran, who was made to resign from the force because of his sexual orientation, is set to be officially renamed later this month

“Secretary Hegseth is committed to ensuring that the names attached to all DOD installations and assets are reflective of the Commander-in-Chief’s priorities, our nation’s history, and the warrior ethos. Any potential renaming(s) will be announced after internal reviews are complete,”

Being gay worse than fighting to expand and promote the supremacy of the white race I see. That certainly does fit well with Trump's priorities.
