Trump's Second Term

Donald is bringing back Columbus Day.
They tore down his statues and put up "WOKE"

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
I'm bringing Columbus Day back from the ashes. The Democrats did everything possible to destroy Christopher Columbus, his reputation, and all of the Italians that love him so much. They tore down his Statues, and put up nothing but “WOKE,” or even worse, nothing at all! Well, you'll be happy to know, Christopher is going to make a major comeback. I am hereby reinstating Columbus Day under the same rules, dates, and locations, as it has had for all of the many decades before!

It's been really traumatizing to us Europeans to see the Democrats do everything in their power to destroy all the Italians. Thank heavens we've got King Dump now!

Seriously, though, just what? This is some insane gibberish even for Dump. Never heard anyone refer to Christopher Colombus as just Christopher before, either. Weird.

Here's an article that speaks of a bit more of what's going on there.

Trump tries to command Indigenous Peoples' Day to the dustbin

To poke at a couple things of particular note...

Columbus Day never stopped being a federal holiday in the first place.

For the statues -
There have been 40 statues taken down, with good reasons, like showing Columbus on a horse and Native Americans in a suplicant position. There are still 130 of them left. So, being an Indigenous person or People is "woke," now.
It's reminiscent of his defense of white supremacist Confederate statues of the Jim Crow and desegregation eras, when they were put up as part of the backlash to black people having rights. How dare anyone remove them (lest people forget who the true masters are)!

With the last line, Trump's again showing how little we should believe State's Rights arguments coming from Republicans.

BASH: You said there are talks with China every day. Who are the talks with and at what level? Because the Chinese are saying that's not true

ROLLINS: Well, according to our team in Washington, the conversations are ongoing regarding multiples of trade

We had takeout Chinese today. I tried to negotiate the price with the man behind the counter but he wouldn't. I suspect it's the same with Herr Schitler.

Albertsons tells suppliers to eat the cost of tariffs: ‘We are not accepting cost increases’

One of America’s largest supermarket chains is telling suppliers they must eat cost hikes owing to increased tariffs.

Albertsons, which owns 2,200 grocery stores across the U.S., sent a letter to suppliers in late March spelling out how it would deal with price hikes.

“With few exceptions, we are not accepting cost increases due to tariffs,” the letter read (emphasis in the original).

“Suppliers are not permitted to include tariff-related costs in invoices without prior authorization by Albertsons Companies,” it further stated, adding, “Any invoices that include such charges without prior authorization will be subject to dispute and may result in payment delays.”

America’s second-largest grocer explained that this policy stemmed from its commitment “to maintaining the value propositions our customers expect.”

Instead, suppliers hit by tariffs will be forced to go through a multistep process to “request a cost change” for the goods they supply to Albertsons, starting with giving the company 90 days’ advance notice. They will need to fill out cost-change forms, offer “a detailed explanation of the tariff impact” and hand over supporting documents, such as tariff notices or import duty receipts.

Once all documents are submitted, the supplier will need to wait another 30 days for Albertsons to review. And even then, approval “is not guaranteed,” the letter said.

In other news, Albertsons soon to learn that nobody buys anything from empty shelves.

Donald’s tariffs will pay for everything so you will pay no income taxes. Amazing!
Sadly, many of his acolytes are so stupid they'll believe it.

"I done told ya Pres. Trump was gonna lower my taxes! Now I ain't gonna have to pay nuthin' cuz those tariffs are all paid by the other guys! Yee haw!"

I don't order food anymore. I keep buying from them and they never buy anything from me. Dump helped me realize the Chinese restaurant has been taking advantage of me for years.

Federal Government’s Growing Banned Words List Is Chilling Act of Censorship

The White House has said it did not create a banned words list but has instead left it to federal agencies to interpret how to comply with executive orders that solely recognize male and female sex or eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. Nonetheless, some departments have added terms that seem to have nothing at all to do with those executive orders.

Yay, a bit of context! That does make it sound slightly better. MAGAts could even try to jump on that to claim that it's just some rogue agencies engaging in malicious compliance! Blame the deep state! A little more context beyond that, though, includes -

In fact, any topic that has “received recent attention from Congress” or “widespread or critical media attention” may be subject to deletion or alteration at the National Cancer Institute, ProPublica reported. And agencies like the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service, which works to find scientific solutions to challenges facing the U.S. agriculture industry, must attempt to function without mentioning water, air, soil, or groundwater pollution, or the insidious PFAS chemicals previously recognized as a major health concern to all Americans.

That's deep in WTF territory. There's interest in a topic? DELETE OR CHANGE THE DATA IF TRUMP DOESN'T LIKE WHAT SCIENCE SAYS! Pollution problems? Can't talk about it!

You're absolutely right! Everyone is taking advantage of me! I'd rather buy nothing and starve!
