Trump's Second Term

We understand it very well indeed, having a similar education setup ourselves. Here is part of our Federal Education mission:

Please don't feel the USA is exceptional in everything. In many things, it is most definitely not.

Also, if you devolve everything to your states, you no longer have a "United" States, just 50 little tinpot countries.
The USA is exceptional. Two examples: The largest, modern nations have universal healthcare.... except the USA. Gun crimes are rare in modern nations.... except in the USA.

Story from the CBC: Trump may not be a 'madman,' but his foreign policy shows signs of it

CBC said:
In Gaza, Israel's military shattered the tenuous ceasefire on Tuesday by inflicting the largest number of deaths in a single day on Palestinians since the war started in October 2023.

And after Trump's phone call with Vladimir Putin on Ukraine, any hope that the Russian president was prepared to roll back or significantly restrain his ongoing three-year assault on the country also proved largely illusory.

Both results were easily predictable, say veteran diplomats, given Trump's almost single-minded focus on scoring quick wins at the expense of the harder work of dogged diplomacy resulting in lasting gains.

"You don't bring parties like Ukraine and the Russian Federation or Hamas and [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu to common ground overnight. It just doesn't happen," Blais said.

And yet that appeared to be exactly what Trump was trying to do with his aggressive bullying and public dressing-down of Zelenskyy in that now-infamous Oval Office meeting in February.

Basically, Trump's silly "I can end the war in Ukraine war on my first day in office" remark was just that: silly.

Story from the CBC: How Trump uses disinformation in his trade war with Canada

CBC said:
"Nobody knows that Canada is charging our dairy farmers," U.S. President Donald Trump complained Friday in the Oval Office. "They have 270 per cent tariffs. Nobody knows that. Nobody knows it. They have up to 400 per cent. They have a couple of tariffs at 400 per cent. Nobody knows that. Nobody talks about that."

In fact some people have talked about it a lot, most prominently Trump himself and his Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. Indeed, one of the issues complicating the negotiations over tariffs between the U.S. and Canada is that the president is telling millions of Americans that Canada routinely charges exorbitant tariffs on a range of U.S. goods from cars to clothing.

The Trump administration has spread disinformation about the true terms of trade between the two nations as a pressure tactic, falsely presenting the "over-quota" tariff rates that are almost never charged as the normal rate.

The opening three paragraphs tell you what you need to know.

Fun fact: A year before the Colorado portrait was commissioned, a Democrat staffer with security access put up a portrait of Putin in the spot intended for Trump, as a prank (she later was disciplined and apologized) The prank actually was part of the reason the state GOP acted so quickly to commission the portrait. So maybe if Trump wants his portrait taken down, they should do it and replace it with the old Putin portrait.

If you are on Threads etc put in "green card" for more of these.

I can't ask her for details, she has limited access to the thread. below that.

She probably had anti-Trump sentiments expressed in emails, texts, or social media on her phone. Even with 1st amendment that’s enough that you can be refused entry.

Green Cards have expiration dates. I remember renewing my Dad’s green card every 10 years. To renew it, I think it takes two years.

If you do have a green card, or even if you have a birthplace outside the US, the best trick is to delete all social media apps on your phone. Keep only your most essential email for what you need for the day of travel. Erase all browser history on the phone, maybe just leave the most essential browser, such as the one that comes with the iPhone in my case. If the word Trump is in your content, you may not get back in.

Donald upset by a portrait.
people are telling him they are upset by it.
Good to see he's focusing on the important things.
I thought this was a joke post at first

...snip...
Yeah not the best portrait but I'd say the artist was sympathetic to their subject, Trump looks like a human being in this portrait which he rarely does in real life!
