"people from mental institutions..." He still thinks "asylum seekers" means people emigrating in search of a better mental hospital to stay in.

What he should be spending his time worrying about is his soon to be realised legacy as the man who singlehandedly ended the USA's tenure as the world's preeminent superpower.

I can't help but think of a parallel situation. Could you imagine what would have happened if Churchill had come to Trump in 1940 looking for help and asking for support? Churchill probably would have had to been held back by secret service.

Regarding Trump as a compromat. I'm not entirely convinced Russia has anything more on him than anyone else. I think Trump might simply admires strongmen and it is enough that Putin tells him what he wants to hear. Flatters him, etc. After all, Trump doesn't care how many people die in Ukraine or even if Russia commits genocide and ethnic cleansing. As long as Putin compliments him and gives his businesses some advantageous deals, he is fine with it.

Dump would've been furious with the Allies for declaring war on Germany.

Exactly, which is why I'm beginning to think this is all just a setup for WWIII (a phrase he uses frequently) which will consist of the U.S. and Russia against Europe, with the goal of installing hard-right puppet regimes under the umbrella of the new Soviet-US alliance. Trump will blame the war on Europe and Obama of course, and then as a result of the war he will suspend all future elections, saying "Well if Zelensky can do it, so can I!" I'm half joking.

For ◊◊◊◊’s sake - I hadn’t realised where his “emptying mental asylums” came from. I fell like an idiot now for not realising.
