Trump's Second Term

[Segnosaur]

Donald Trump: “Eggs are a disaster. The secretary of agriculture is gonna be showing you a chart that's actually mind-boggling, what's happened, how low they were with us and how high they are now."

Ummm.... does he not realize that he IS the president now, and eggs are now really expensive during HIS administration?

BREAKING: Trump signs new DOGE Executive Order mandating Federal Agencies implement a technology solution to review and cut ALL spending, track employee spending with clear identifications, and report to a DOGE liason.

TLDR: All Federal agencies are going through DOGE cutting

I think you mean really eggspensive.

[Jack by the hedge]

He just needs to sign an executive order telling RFK to declare bird flu isn't real and egg prices will be great again.

considering how they use "technology solutions" to track their spending already (there's even a government office for it) it seems the only difference is now a political officer is being assigned to each agency.

Funny how all these people who claim they hate communism seem to mimic the old Soviet Union.

That's what it seems like. There are already experienced accountants and accounting systems up and down the federal agency chain of command, all of it conforming to GAO specifications. Those of us who have had to do the account for government grants and contracts are quite accustomed to the stringent accounting requirements that were already in place. (Or rather, my accountants were, and they complained incessantly about it.) I'm sure that something hacked together in a few weeks by "Big Balls" will be stable, scalable, reliable, and bug-free . Somehow we're "saving" money by scrapping what we already have and building something new to do the same job poorly, only apparently with hooks to let Elon Musk mouse out your budget line items without understanding what it's for or what he's doing.

Damn it, I want to bring up Robert's post on it.

There is also apparently a version floating around that includes the section he says is missing.

I'm waiting for DOGE employees to be fired by DOGE.

Given that "DOGE" is really a shell game between three separate entities to avoid legal responsibility, that may actually happen.

rump said he planned to hit goods from China with a new 10% tariff, the latest salvo in the US president's steadily escalating trade fights.

Imports from China already face taxes at the border of at least 10%, after a Trump tariff order that went into effect earlier this month.

Trump also said he intended to move forward with a threatened 25% tax on imports from Canada and Mexico, which is set to come into effect on 4 March.

The US president had previously announced the 25% levies, but suspended the measures at the last moment after the countries agreed to increase border security funding and talk further on how to combat drug trafficking.

Trump says US will impose additional 10% tariff on China

He also said he would move ahead with 25% tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada, which had been paused.

Pete Hegseth announces FULL Investigation into botched Afghanistan withdrawal:

"We're doing a complete review of every single aspect of what happened with the botched withdrawal of Afghanistan and plan to have full accountability."

It was botched. He just said so. Why does it need any review?

He's a full on, Russian asset, no???

"We're doing a complete review of every single aspect of what happened with the botched withdrawal of Afghanistan and plan to have full accountability."

So, will the investigation involve actions taken pre-2021? Such as the deal with the taliban? The 'bounty' programs targeting US troops by both Russia and Iran?

Just asking for a friend...

It is astonishing* that he is putting a higher percentage of tariffs on Canadian goods than on Chinese goods.

*I suppose it's not really astonishing given everything else he has done
