Trump's Second Term

Given that Musk's companies are/were being investigated by 32 federal agencies, it's hardly surprising that he wants to get rid of a bunch of agencies.
And apparently Musk's companies (Tesla and SpaceX) have also been awarded new contracts since he became head of DOGE. This is all a major conflict of interest, even if Musk only an "adviser" to the President and not running DOGE.

Yeah but Fort Knox is sexier, and it's all about appearance to Trump.
He can go into Fort Knox and simply declare that The Woke or the Deep State or Hillary Clinton or Hunter Biden stole a bunch of gold because—in his sole judgment—there's gold missing. And since no one else can get into Fort Knox to fact-check him, he'll just have more grist for the MAGA slobber mill.

ELON cancelled the SEC and CFPB's Bloomberg Terminals.
Bank regulators don't have access to banking data.
What on earth are you talking about? Do you think banks report data only through Bloomberg terminals? They don't. In fact, Bloomberg terminals seem mostly geared to financial market information, not bank data. When your bank reports a transaction of more than $10k to the feds, they don't do so through the Bloomberg terminal.

And even in regards to market data, Bloomberg terminals aren't the only way to access that data. The SEC can and do get it directly from the exchanges, they don't need to go through Bloomberg.

Correction: there are only 11 federal agencies investigating Musk's companies. However, some have multiple investigations so there is a total of 32 investigations.

Utter garbage. Only one party tried a coup to overturn a legitimate election result and is now demolishing government.

If Trump was in favour of supporting Ukraine (without demanding unreasonable terms) Democrats would support him
What you posted has nothing to do with what I posted.

It has gotten to the point that the two parties have to stake out opposing positions on every issue and members are not allowed to agree about anything

seems pretty on point to me...

ETA: I've always been adamantly opposed to the two-party system, but to compare the utter lunacy that the GOP has devolved into with whatever faults the Dems might have is just being disingenuous.

X is going to launch a digital payment system in partnership with Visa. Such a system would have been regulated by...
the CFPB. Guess what happened to the CFPB.

I'm sure some gold will go missing after DOGE is in there.

The Republican party, including many who are still in office, has historically been the one most vocal about standing up to Russia, for having the strongest military in the world, and being the world's policeman. This, I think, had been true until Trump. It's very new.

It also has nothing to do with corruption, authoritarianism, homophobia, or kleptocracy. None of those contradict being strong against Russia.

It has occurred to me that a motivation for Trump's actions is based on nothing other than opposing anything Biden was in favor of. "Biden says the sky is blue? Nope, it's gray." Even the things they agreed on (Tik-Tok) he now disagrees with.

But Trump and the Republicans are not the only one who does this. It has gotten to the point that the two parties have to stake out opposing positions on every issue and members are not allowed to agree about anything.

I think it was Bob Dole who said in an interview that I heard that the Democrats were his opponents, not his enemies. Both parties want the best for the country, they just disagree with how to get there. Then he went on a speaking tour with Clinton.
I say no, it is that Putin knows how to manipulate Trump. I don’t think there is any blackmail or other reasons, Trump is easy to manipulate.

I suspect Musk has some grand scheme to eliminate the dollar as currency and convert the nation to "crypto". This would, of course, cause a global economic collapse unprecedented in human history but, as the silver lining to the disaster, would almost certainly result in a violent bloodbath of a revolution in which all the oligarchs would be torn apart by angry mobs.
