What legal issue? Trump has declared it therefore it's legal or rather there is no one to do anything about it even if it isn't legal, comes out the same in the end.

To be clear, they had been down for only three days, they were federal water pumps, and the military was not involved:

“The military did not enter California,” California’s state Department of Water Resources posted on X after 10 p.m. Pacific time. “The federal government restarted federal water pumps after they were offline for maintenance for three days. State water supplies in Southern California remain plentiful.”

A relative through marriage got fired immediately when Trump came into office. She processed government contracts and they gave her a 1 week notice. She had a 6 figure job that was gone in a heartbeat. Her son voted for Trump.

I'm sorry for your relative. Her story is not unique. A lot of people who have accepted jobs have been summarily fired or had the job offers suddenly rescinded in this ongoing chaos. Another thing being reported (and thus possibly apocryphal) is that white women are being removed from positions because they were ostensibly DEI hires for positions for which better qualified men were allegedly turned down. It seems that the MAGA interpretation of DEI having solely to do with race is not entirely accurate. Diversity has for a long time treated sex as an important consideration.
