Trump's Second Term

Trump on disaster aid to California:

"I want to see two things in Los Angeles. Voter ID, so that the people have a chance to vote, and I want to see the water be released and come down into Los Angeles and throughout the state. After that, I will be the greatest president that California has ever seen."

He says Trump disaster aid for North Carolina and California will go through his administration instead of FEMA.

Such vigorous yanking could cause some kind of tug of war, while she attempts to overcome his resistance, though I predict the result would be a happy ending.

I'll give you a like once I've recovered control of my gag reflex.

There we have it in explicit language..

"I'll also be signing an executive order to begin the process of fundamentally reforming and overhauling FEMA or maybe getting rid of FEMA. I think, frankly, FEMA is not good. I think when you have a problem like this, I think you want to use your state to fix it and not waste time calling FEMA. I think we're gonna recommend that FEMA go away."

"When there is a problem with a state, I think that that problem should be taken care of by the state. That's what we have states for. They take care of problems."
He is as stupid as he is corrupt.

Trump is not going to screw over red states, but he'll gladly punish blue ones.
I'm not so sure. Drumpf must know he'll be a one-term president, due to health reasons if nothing else, so to him, the red states have outlived their usefulness. I'm not saying I'm predicting it happening, I'm not an expert and I can't tell the future, but I can perfectly see the leopards purring as they cut aid to the very states that got them into office.

No, he’ll send aid to red states: “DeSantis has been very good to me. You can have federal help.”

Not to blue states: “Whitmer is a nasty woman. She can get help if she changes the electoral laws and says thank you. Let’s see if she cares about the people of her state.”

Trump seems to think that tax revenue belongs to him personally. And so any Federal spending is taking cash out of his own pocket.

So what does this specific order say, Donny? Overhaul? Or eliminate. Two completely different actions with two completely different goals and costs.

Or is this just more drivel from your arse and out your mouth.

Cell phone towers kill millions of birds a year. Tall buildings kill 100's of millions of birds a year. Cats kill around a billion birds a year.

It's hard to believe that wind farms would be any more likely to show up on radar than tall buildings would (though tall buildings would only show up on reflectivity images and not on radial velocity images). And even if they did, they would always be in the same location so the forecaster should be able to adjust for them (forecasters in mountainous regions have to adjust for mountain peaks showing up in radar images).

Which weather forecast model(s) use(s) weather radar data?
Oh good grief...
Numerous high resolution models use radar data. And the reason buildings don't show up is because the clutter supression accounts for them. Clutter suppression can account for wind farms too but the problem is that they cover thousands of acres, so if you suppress that area you run the risk of missing actual precipitation! You are arguing with the wrong person, I literally was a "forecaster adjusting for mountain peaks..." with NOAA for 14 years...
As for birds, I just mentioned them in passing and not part of my main gripe with farms (which is that they destroy pristine wild areas when sited inappropriately) I certainly don't dispute that cats kill more. But the knee jerk reaction you see from some members here "It's a myth!" is just as bad as Maggat nonsense. For ***** sake, I have killed birds driving down the road and one died flying right into our kitchen window last year (after that we put up decals to make it more visible) so denying that large metal blades spinning quickly through a couple hundred feet of prime flying space is killing birds is about as stupid as saying that offshore oil rigs are great for the environment. This is completely off topic so I am not going to share the studies that have documented the deaths--it is IRRELEVANT because my argument has EXPRESSLY stated that DESPITE the (not insignificant) number of deaths, it is not a reason to prefer fossil fuels to wind energy! PERIOD...

Sure. With a husband with cancer we're going to move to some island in the South Pacific where we'd have no medical insurance. I'm sure his medical care would be top notch.
You don't need to be a resident for a Vanuatu nvestment passport. You are literally buying a citizenship online. My understanding is most countries offering investment passports also do not need residency. They just want your money.

Trump rounded up 80 Guatemalans. They went into a cargo type plane on TV. With say 4 million to deport, only 50 000 more flights and they are done.
He didn't even 'round them up'--they were already detained. And the pics you see that they are going out of their way to publish are probably no different (except perhaps more military involvement?) than what happened during Biden's term--when a couple million people were deported. The only reason Biden didn't share those pics is that it might have pissed off some of his base.

I really think a number of swing voters who swung to Trump are going have buyers regret....as much as some here want to deny that buecause they have a "everybody who voted for Trump is a Cult Member" opinion which somehow gives them emotinal satisfaction.

Yup, and Fox entertainment (the home of losers and suckers) never actually reported that there were 80 deportees. All they said was that the plane held 80 bodies.

That has to make you wonder how many guards went along, if any at all.

maybe not a part of the cult but they were drinking the kool aid

TRUMP: Yeah. That's what I want to do. We want to bring it locally, so that a state takes care of its problem, and then they can bring it down to a local level like Samaritan's Purse and Franklin Graham

When he disbands FEMA he's going to funnel the cash through his political allies and cronies isn't he?
Kickbacks and skimming galore.
