Trump's Second Term

Well, after seeing the video of the whole sequence I think Musk was on drugs or something, his energy is too exuberant, the gestures like those of a child who has received presents on Christmas day, not adult-like. He seemed to be so caught up, so happy with the adulation (I´m on top of the world!!) that he probably did the sieg heil on the spur of the moment. Coke makes you behave in strange ways, at that moment he must have thought he could do anything.

Either that or he made a bet with someone, "You wouldn´t dare to do a sieg heil in the inauguration speech" "hold my beer"...

I have no sympathy for Musk, nor for MAGA politics. Until your post i haven't seen what Musk did. Having watched your helpful clip of Musk and some guy alongside it is clear Musk was not doing a Nazi salute. Nazi salutes are done with the arm extended straight out in front of the body. Musk had his arm out to the side. This 'Musk does Nazi salute' claim is false news, disinformation, black propaganda.. Musk has done enough stupid and unpleasant things that it is unnecessary to lie and claim he did things he did not.
Someone tell the ACTUAL NAZIS they are doing it wrong. You know, the ACTUAL NAZIS who praised Musk for his obvious Nazi salute.

edit
Someone even edited the two clips into a side-by-side comparison that I could've linked to, except Musk helpfully age-restricted it because he didn't want to see how his 'clumsy autistic rendition of the super-secret throwing my heart out to the crowd gesture' didn't look exactly like a Nazi salute.

MAGA's habit of providing examples that look nothing like the Nazi salute that Musk did remain sad and embarrassing for them. You had the option to say nothing but instead chose to offer a very limp defense for a guy who did an obvious Nazi salute.

A Nazi salute isn't a still photograph of someone holding their arm out and it's not someone holding their arm out and waving it around. There are very specific mechanics to it. It looks exactly like this.

If you want to see what an actual good comparison looks like, I'm here to help.
See Thaiboxer's signature:
1. He'd never do that.
2. Okay but he's not currently doing it.
3. Okay but he's not currently technically doing it.
4. Okay but everyone does it.
5. He's doing it, we can't stop him, no point in complaining about it.
6. We all knew he was going to do it which... makes it okay somehow.
7. It's perfectly fine that he's doing it.

We have jumped to 7.

Looks like Trump has shut down the White House's Spanish-language website and X account, "La Casa Blanca," to reinforce English as the nation's language.

Someone tell Hitler he did it wrong and what he did can't be considered a proper Nazi salute.

What does it matter, though, Dump and Musk will do something else outrageous in a few hours or days and we'll forget we even talked about this.
At least it tells us who is willing to defend and excuse actual Nazi salutes, which is very telling.

Trump has imposed a communications blackout across America's federal health agencies, including the CDC, FDA, HHS, and NIH.

They have been instructed to halt all external communications, such as publishing scientific reports, updating websites, and issuing health advisories.

The directive was issued suddenly and without prior notice.

But they've still got Tiktok, right?

Meanwhile, the media maintains their false balance narrative wrt Musk's Nazi salute. Someone said that was mostly US media, not foreign media, but I see the Norwegian papers doing the same thing. Now that the precedent is set, though, I expect them to be equally vague on other gestures. "Person did something that someone interpreted as them flipping someone off" --followed by a prolonged debate on whether they actually showed the finger.

I really struggle to understand their motivations. As you say, Musk, Drumpf, and the present-day GOP are far-right. We all know this. Trying to pretend an obvious Nazi salute wasn't a Nazi salute is like me watching a communist parade and vehemently arguing that the red flags *don't have anything to do with the far-left, obviously the communists are just carrying flags the colour of hearts to display their undying love for the city and the crowds.

I'm glad it's only four days or so until I get my next Audible credit so I can get that book on cults. I think I need an actual understanding of how the minds of the Drumpf sect members operate if I'm going to survive the next four years, otherwise I'll die of sheer confusion.
I've said it lots of times, modern day nazis are too cowardly to openly admit their nazism
