Trump's Second Term

They want the power to label any non-profit that they don't agree with as a terrorist group. Just another step on the stairway to fascism.

It's shaping up to be a four year, 24/7 episode of Celebrity Apprentice: The Government Edition.
I guess, if we're lucky, they'll televise it when he calls someone into the Oval Office to fire them.

It is so predictable. Trump has appointed a bunch of people who are totally unqualified fo their jobs, they will mess up badlt, make Trump look bad, and out they go.

Man,the film of "Wicked" reallly has revived interest in "The Wizard of Oz".

Your assumption is that every trump VOtor is MAGA.

Everything I read says that is a false assumption. There are plenty of voters who saw him as the lesser ot two evils. Thy e made ahorrible mistake, yes, but they are not blind followers.
I know it is easy to demonize Trump votors, and the Hard Cor Magas deserve it.but let's get real.
I did say "most" for a reason, instead of "all." With that said, many of those "plenty of voters who saw him as the lesser of two evils" were really, really deluded given the actual situation... to the point where willful blindness was fairly certainly in play. Willful blindness on large scales tends to have notable driving factors that aren't likely to be all that shaken by something as simple as being horribly wrong, objectively speaking. Any "let's get real" point that you wish you had here is directly contradicted by the significant increase in Trump voters between 2016 and 2020 and how the 2024 numbers for Trump showed no significant drop, even after... everything, really. Trump literally got huge numbers of "his people" killed by brazenly lying to them about Covid and large numbers of his selected people screwed up horrendously all throughout and what repercussions did he face? Unless you're talking about Trump messing up much worse than that, what you're saying just comes across as copium, to me.

I'm not holding my breath for any significant actual buyer's remorse, going by the numbers so far. I would be happy to be pleasantly surprised, of course, but actions speak louder than words and the actions have not been encouraging so far.

It has been only two weeks since the election.
Trump had not taken office yet.
You are buying into the Trump is invicible storyline.
And compusm seems to be anything that is not "We are doomed and there is nothgn we can do about it"
Or maybe you are just bitter that the American people are not as far to the left as you would like.
And this it is hopeles atittude helps nobody but Trump, Ever think about that?
I think that despair and pseesimis has been the trendy intellectual trend for along time can be very destructive.

You're grasping at straws, without real basis for your assumptions and suggestions.

Again, actions speak louder than words. I would be happy to be pleasantly surprised, but I'm not all that interested in resting my hopes on just assuming that things will be magically better this time than they were before. Remember what trying the same thing and expecting a different result is called?

what part ot it has just been two weeks since the elections don;t you understand?
If I were to bet, I'd bet on Gaetz's forgoing the Senate seat and running for governor in two years. If he becomes a senator, then the Senate Ethics Committee will just pick up where the House Ethics Committee left off. But if he's out of Congress altogether, he won't have to worry about that, plus he can concentrate on fundraising and putting together a statewide campaign organization for the next two years.

Trump's genius is already off to a glorious start, as his AG pick drops out and all but concedes he is a child sex offender among other crimes. Great job, O Dictator Elect, I can't wait for the sea o' scandals in the first 100 days... :popcorn1

What part of what I said don't you understand?

That "most" is not the same as "all," for example? You seem to be too busy condemning caricatures and grasping at baseless straws to try to discredit me with rather than address the actual points made.

wannabe dictator, he is not smart enough to actully pull it off.

Instead of Gaetz, Trump has put forward Pam Bondi as Attorney General.

"Bondi, too, is a longtime loyalist. She has been a vocal critic of the criminal cases against Trump as well as Jack Smith, the special counsel who charged Trump in two federal cases. In one radio appearance, she blasted Smith and other prosecutors who have charged Trump as “horrible” people she said were trying to make names for themselves by “going after Donald Trump and weaponizing our legal system.”"

Gee, I wonder who she's gonna go after?

You open up a menu, point to an item and say to the waitress: “I’ll have the Putrid, Maggot-infested Stew. And pie.” In my reality that pretty much makes you a putrid, maggot-infested stew eater.

Lindsay Graham just sunk himself ever deeper into a hole of humiliation. Not content with people booing him at Trump rallies, he must have been one of the few senators publicly saying he would approve Gaetz without question.
