Trump's Second Term

Most people can't afford a daily meal, but the wealthy 1% can dine on food that most can't afford in their wildest dreams. This is exactly the goal of the republicans.

The Greenlander hat people are entitled to some basic income monthly. Some people just don't collect it. You could afford some bread and canned food at the least.

yeah guys how is trump jr really wrong for paying people to pretend to like him for a publicity stunt orchestrated by his deranged dad? aren’t the bad guy actually the left? think about it

It's a family tradition! Daddy Trump paid people to be in the infamous "golden escalator" crowd.

Okay, so it looks like Elon Musk is going to have an office in the White House Complex which just looks like a massive amount of influence for a non-elected yet powerful person.

I mean, remember how we heard how George Soros was some kind of hidden force behind the scenes, putting money into various groups who would then come up with some ideas in universities leading maybe to some kind of insidious brainwashing. Well, Elon Musk is just basically a super-charged version of that, an extremely conflicted individual essentially making policy while blasting out his views on foreign and domestic policy through social media.

Enjoy your oligarchy, America.

TIL
Denmark has poor people!!!!!!!1111!!!!!1!11
What a ◊◊◊◊-hole, 3rd world country that place turned out to be.
Ah, but they are not really poor people!
They could be much more bigly poor. US level poor.
After all, now they have horrible socialist things like a functional and affordable health care system, social security, labour protection laws etc.
But in MAGA Greenland they will be saved from all that so they can be much poorer so wealth can trickle down.

Denmark is literally allowing a population of people who can barely afford a daily meal, at the same time allowing an exclusive restaurant right across the street.
So is the USA. And most other countries, though the gap between rich and poor is a lot worse in the US than it is in Europe.

Nine of the top 10 countries [with the lowest wealth inequality] are located in Europe or on the Europe/Asia border (Azerbaijan). The top 1% of earners in Europe take only 12% of the total income and the bottom 50% of earners take 22% of income. For comparison, in the United States, which has more billionaires than any other country, the top 1% of earners take 20% of income and the bottom 50% of earners take 10%. The less inequality/greater equality in Europe is attributed to the fact that Europe has not let its market economy become a market society, where market forces control other areas of society such as education, health, and wages. Examples of this are social healthcare systems and more favorable labor markets.

I see a common thread through the Greenland, the Panama Canal and the "Gulf of America", the NATO 5% of GDP military spending and the tariffs/trade war with China nonsense, and it's this:

Reducing the Trade Deficit.

It's been a goal of Trump in his first term, one that he failed at spectacularly.

For it to work this time, the US has to export more and import less; the latter is being done with tariffs, the former requires shipping of oil an gas, which needs priority access to the Panama Canal and Gulf of Mexico at low cost for US exporters. Greenland is a possible source of more stuff to export, NATO defense spending will benefit US weapon manufacturers.

Trump, being a Mercantilist, wants to use US military power to make the failing US economy more competitive, which is the ultimate subsidy.

My WAG conspiracy theory. Chinese and or Russian assets in Trump's team are behind it.

Getting America out undermining the international rule of law makes Russia's and Chinese illegal activities relatively more legitimate.

I think Trump thinks a nation is a company, and tries to run it like that. "Making deals" and the measure of success of a nation is how much money it makes. (That a nation might make money and spend it on the needs and comforts of its people will never, ever enter his head.)

Every accusation from them is a confession.

Close.
I believe Trump is incapable of thinking in terms of Countries / Companies / Organizations, only individuals, and thinks that a CEO is the same as the company, the Head of State the same as the Country etc., and what he agrees to with them will be instantly implemented by them. People are just there to do what they are told by their superiors - at best they are NPCs, more likely they are just a type of machine.

And, based on his cabinet, etc. nominations, he appears to want to run the country as a privately-owned business.

It may have been just a rumor (it's on TwiX, after all) but I saw some posts about federal employees having to sign a loyalty oath to the POSOTUS (-elect). It's not a stretch to consider that totally possible.

I'd be very sceptical of such claims but I suppose the reason why they might seem plausible is because they're so "on brand" for MAGA.

Maybe we could see a return to recruitment practices for senior officials in Europe back in the 18th century - you're expected to provide the head of state with a significant lump sum in advance for your position which you are expected to recoup by skimming off money from your department.
