Trump's Second Term

Hot on the heels of Paul, Weiss bending the knee to trump, Columbia University has now followed suit.

Columbia acquiesced to most of the administration’s demands in a memo that laid out measures including banning face masks on campus, empowering security officers to remove or arrest individuals, and taking control of the department that offers courses on the Middle East from its faculty.

The Ivy League university’s response is being watched by other universities that the administration has sanctioned as it advances its policy objectives in areas ranging from campus protests to transgender sports and diversity initiatives.

Also on Canada, another insane ramble

"We can't be expected to carry a country that is right next to us on our border"
"We don't need anything from Canada, and yet it costs up $200b in subsidy to keep Canada afloat. So when I say they should be a state, I mean that. I really mean that ... some people don't have the cards."
Apparently Canada spends nothing on military because it thinks America is going to protect them and wants America to give them Icebreakers

What concerns me as much as Trump insanely believing his own pile of excrement, is the number of American voters who also believe it. We see it right here in this group.

We have a thread somewhere asking 'is Donald Trump mentally ill'? It's no longer needed. This thread has absorbed it as it covers that question. The answer is a resounding, "Hell, Yes!'
True. The question we are all asking ourselv now is if he'll make it to 2028 before dying or being dethroned.

The question i'm asking is whether enough democracy and election integrity will survive until 2026. If it does, there will be such an upwelling of anger that his leverage in power will be reversed by the midterms. Impeachment, or at least multiple attempts at impeachment, will follow quickly.

Democrats in charge: voters scream "gov't is not working!"
Trump II: the same. Now what? Voters in 2026 are not going to be happy.

Alternately said -

Democrats in charge? Republicans scream "Government isn't working!" often brazenly lying in the process.
Republicans in charge? Republicans wink and say, "We're gonna make sure that government won't be able to work. Again."

"You Spanish speaking brown people, go home. It will be easier that way."

SS - Billionaire commerce secretary says only 'fraudsters' need Social Security

"Let's say Social Security didn't send out their checks this month. My mother-in-law, who's 94, she wouldn't call and complain. She just wouldn't. She thinks something got messed up and she'll get it next month. A fraudster always makes the loudest noise screaming, yelling, and complaining. And all the guys who did PayPal, like Elon knows this by heart, right? Anybody who's been in the payment system and the process system knows the easiest way to find the fraudster is to stop payments and listen,” he said.

...Yes, stop SS payments, which plenty of elderly people live off of, and anyone who speaks up about the problems that causes is a fraudster. Uh huh.

Oh, and on top of that -

Meanwhile, Leland Dudek, the acting head of the Social Security Administration, threatened on Thursday to shut the whole agency down over a court ruling that restricts DOGE’s access to sensitive information.

Dudek complained to the Washington Post on Friday that the order was too broad and he didn’t understand it.

“Unless I get clarification,” he told the Post, “I’ll just start to shut it down.”

*facepalm* Bad faith actors, the lot of them.

Onwards, though. Health!

‘Everybody has to die’: Anti-vax parents unmoved by kid’s measles death

Vitamin A is better than the vaccine because only one of their kids died! And what's happening with them now?

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s dangerous anti-vaxx nonprofit, Children Health Defense, has two new star spokespeople: the parents of the 6-year-old Texas girl who died of measles in February.

The parents—who are Mennonites—appeared in an online interview with Children’s Health Defense on Monday, during which the young parents stifled sobs, detailing how their unvaccinated daughter got sick from measles and then pneumonia, ultimately leading to her death.
In a normal world, this would be a cautionary tale of the dangers of the anti-vaxx movement and the importance of vaccinating children. Ideally, something good would come out of this tragedy.

But this is Donald Trump’s America.

The interviewer asked the parents what they would tell other parents about vaccinating their children against measles.

“Don’t do the shots. Measles [is] not as bad as they’re making it out to be,” the mother said.

Death cult.

Weather - Just in time for tornado season, Musk's ruining weather reports

Cutting data collection just in time and place for tornado season for no actually good reason? Paving the way for increased death and damage is still the Republican way, not that they ever want to actually take responsibility.

Oh, and here's a bit of an oddity that's unpleasantly unsurprising -

Trump Claims Not To Have Signed Alien Enemies Act Deportation Document. So Who Did?

At a hearing today Judge Boasberg expressed his concern over the “in the dark” timing of the signing of Trump’s Alien Enemies Act proclamation and the almost immediate boarding of planes with hundreds of prisoners to be removed under it. The Judge indicated this suggested a deliberate, bad faith ploy to circumvent any opportunity to review what the administration was doing (which it obviously was).

Later Trump was asked about the judge’s “in the dark” concern. Trump’s bizarre response was that he didn’t sign it so he didn’t know when it was signed. He has people to handle that sort of thing.
“I don’t know when it was signed. I didn’t sign it. Other people handled it.”

There's no "good" scenario here.

Do it, Lutnick! Do it, Dudek! If there's two things people have to have, it's bread and circuses. Go ahead, take their bread from their mouths you worthless rich ◊◊◊◊◊! You want to see how fast millions of MAGA will turn upon you and converge on D.C. with loaded guns? You want to see how fast even the Republiscum Congresscum will turn on you to save their own necks? You want to see how fast the military and police will refuse Trump's orders to kill people in the streets? Starving and dying people will leave your sick cult and come after you! Go ahead, cut off Soc Sec! Cut off Medicare! DO IT! ◊◊◊◊ AROUND AND FIND OUT ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊!

You think that liberals are your enemy? The MAGA fools you have suckered will be the instrument of your end! When the truth finally dawns on them, they will make Jan. 6th look like a children's birthday party! We liberals don't have to do a damn thing but sit back and watch as you destroy yourselves!

So he admits to doing exactly what he accused Biden of doing? He's too senile and stupid to keep track of his own lies!

"He didn't WIN the popular VOTE (by a lot!)"

So a 1.48% margin is "a lot", eh? Admittedly it's better than his last victory, when he "WON BIGGLY" by a margin of -2.09%.

The guy's ego is as fragile as a Fabergé egg. I mean I know he's stupid (someone who worked for him said he can't even read a balance sheet), but surely he understands that 1.48% isn't "AN OVERWHELMING MANDATE". Hell, not counting Washington, who twice ran unopposed, Trump's highest margin of victory only beats ten other victory margins out of the last fifty eight elections. And one of those guys he beat is himself, from the 2016 election. In terms of presidential electoral victory margin, Trump doesn't even break out of the bottom 20%.

And I think that explains the histrionic rants. He can't stand that he isn't the most popular and beloved president of all time, so he bloviates about having an overwhelming mandate. He probably understands, on some level, that he barely won both times, and only because he could depend on simpletons to vote the way Sean Hannity and their preachers told them to vote.
Trampy only won both times because enough states had their elections debased to Ruzzian or North Korean levels by republitraitor operatives.
