I suspect congressional investigations will keep him quite relevant, but not in the way he wants.

But yeah, nobody thought he would be able to get anything done. He's just going to veto everything. Hopefully there will be enough support to override them, we'll see.

According to Politico, Trump has already called the Dem leadership and said he is ready to make deals with them, so he does not have to veto everything. The only deal they should make with him is that if he steps down, they won't throw him in jail.

I suggest they do the opposite. Since he is a lame duck now, make him stay in office and the GOP suffer the consequences for the next two years. So that, by 2028, the whole USA will go blue. Don't give the GOP a handy escape hatch today by ejecting Donny and putting JD Maybelline in the Big Chair in his stead. Vance is far more dangerous than Trump, especially at this juncture, and far more capable of creating obstructions and havoc.

However, if you DO want to bargain, tell Trump a deal is on if, and only if, he sacks every one of his Project 2025 infected administrative team and never re-employs them in any capacity ever again. Miller in particular, but he is just the first turd in the heap. Further, that Trump agrees to rescind every pardon he has issued, in particular the J6 pardons, and instructs that those pardoned have their previous sentences resumed where they left off. Knowing Trump, if he gets to keep hold of the pretend big bus steering wheel, he will do that. Loyalty is not a word he knows.

Fair points. And I think it is his lack of loyalty that is gonna backfire on him. I might be wrong, but seems to me that by insulting all the Republican Reps who he said could not have won without him being on the ballot, the remaining Reps in Congress are gonna be really wary of throwing any more support to him, knowing their heads are next on the block.

Trump is like phosgene gas. He is just as dangerous to his friends as he is to his enemies, depending on how the wind blows.

12 or so GoP senators would need to see the writing on the wall to override. (Dont confuse that with filibuster, need 67).
 
Trump might very well to the Total Veto, not to spite Democrats, but to punish Republicans, making it sure that they will still be held responsible for everything come 2028.
