Trump's Second Term

You know, a decade ago, a person could probably claim "I'm a republican but don't support the republican candidate for president" and nobody would bat an eye.

But Trump and the rise of the MAGAchud have changed the nature of politics. The GOP has gone so far off the rails, their actions are so... questionable... and the republicans in congress have established a cult-like subservience to Trump that the ability to say "I support the republicans but not Trump" is something that many people just don't accept.
Eppur si muove.

i don’t think the fort knox visits are a stunt. they’ll go, say there’s a problem with the gold. they want to go back to the gold standard, but there’s a problem with the gold. so we need a crypto reserve instead.
Point well taken. If there's an ulterior motive to these stunts, then naturally my tolerance of them depends on the motive.

I note that Bannon didn't look like he dared do a proper Sieg Heil. That was half-hearted.
It’s the new style. Musk was also uneasy about how he should do it. They haven’t practiced enough before the mirror, or they try to make it their own not-quite-Sieg-heil-but-close-enough gesture.

edit

what are the odds they say they checked it out and everything is great? it’s 0 right?
(Shrug) It might be a stunt with a motive, but it's still a stunt, the question being whether it's only a stunt. Your scenario is possible, I suppose, and I guess we'll see, but I think it's a mistake to attribute such a grand design to the likes of Trump/Musk. They were put where they are on the basis of a performative-politics style that they are pretty good at in preference to substantive politics that they don't seem capable of (unless you think that "break ◊◊◊◊!" is substantive). Musk may be very proficient at tech stuff, but he knows next to nothing about government (in the sense of actually governing rather than playing at it); and Trump is just a stupid, blustery man who's managed to get way above his earned pay grade.

We can only go by what you post.

Yup, and I've NEVER posted one kind word about that lying, vomit spewing fat clown or his stupidly ignorant maga weirdoes. Hopefully, that counts for something.

Well, except that I'm willing to give Sean Curran a chance, although IMO, he should've picked the woman you see in so many pictures from that day who was actually using her body to protect him.

Kash Patel, calls for “offensive operations” to jail Americans who they consider “the enemy.”

“We will go out and find the conspirators... Yes, we are going to come after the people in the media”

Also the Judges and people that helped Joe Biden rig the elections.

Well done America you invented the Gestapo.

Hurray for the Republicans

After all (paraphrasing another poster here), I could assume all US citizens love trump just because they're still US citizens, but I'm NOT STUPID.

Comparing citizenship to political party is one of the worst equivalencies in a long while. You can change your political affiliation whenever the ◊◊◊◊ you want and there's no real process. I can't just revoke my citizenry of the US and live a quality life because it's required to be employed, drive a car, pay taxes, etc.

The fact you're saying those two things are the same says a lot about you. I'm not sure it's what you want it to say, but it says a lot for sure.

Trump addressing State Governers

TRUMP: The NCAA has complied immediately. That's good. But I understand Maine -- is the governor of Maine here?

JANET MILLS: Yeah I'm here

TRUMP: Are you not gonna comply?

JM: I'm going to comply with state and federal law

T: You better do it bc you're not gonna get any federal funding at all

JM: See you in court

T: Enjoy your life after governor because I don't think you'll be in elected politics

So is assuming I'm a nazi just because I'm a republican.

Trump on his anti drugs cmpaign:

"We have now hired a couple of the best agencies and we're gonna spend about $150m, maybe $200m, on advertising saying that when you take certain drugs -- the drug fentanyl, etc -- it destroys your skin, it destroys your teeth, it destroys your brain ... I think we can drop it 50% by doing this."

"If you notice, every country that has the death penalty has no drug problem. They execute drug dealers. And when you think about it, it's very humane, because every drug dealer on average they say kills at least 500 people ... I don't know if our country is ready for it. I am ready for it."

That's almost the same campaign the government used to make and keep marijuana illegal.

Remember that movie, Reefer Madness?

We all know that didn't stop it's use.

How does insulting republicans who aren't maga weirdoes help fight that lying, fat clown?

-

Giving a political party that's doing what that lying, fat clown says, your allegiance says things about you. That's it, no more, no less. You're supporting a party that wants to strip people of their rights, wants pregnant women to give birth no matter what, and the list goes on. It's not one or two of those politicians that are doing it, it's the literal ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ policy position of the party and you're like, "Yup, that's who I'm supporting, but totally don't look at me as someone that supports that stuff". Sorry, you wear the uniform, you wear the backlash. You don't want to catch ◊◊◊◊ for getting in line behind ass holes that are working to destroy our country? Stop being part of the problem. Until then, you're a Republican and you deserve all the ridicule and backlash that comes with it.

i agree, if the republican party completely supports trump and his agenda, how does supporting the republican party but not trump work?

Because I don't support the republicans who support that lying sewer rat called trump or the maga weirdoes either.

Now, what does THAT say about me?
