A judge in the US has ruled that the effective closure of the Voice of America (VOA) last year was "illegal" and that hundreds of its journalists should be reinstated.

District Court Judge Royce Lamberth has given authorities one week to put the international broadcaster back on air.

But then, I notice he didn't explain whatever unfair treatment of US workers he thought Canada had perpetrated.

I guess maybe it was a reference the tariff thing. Canada not buying enough US products, maybe. Because Trump calculates trade imbalance like he calculates percentages. There are two ways. The normal way, and the Trump thing. Might be that.

And of course it's true that Canada spends an awful lot less on defence than the US does. But Canada isn't bombing other countries and kidnapping foreign heads of state, and telling other countries they're next. And the US isn't armed to the teeth because it thinks somebody's going to attack Canada.
