Trump's Second Term

It's like how Libya came to the table for negotiations with the UK after Iraq II. And that ended well, right?
You are correct, it ended very badly for them. Which was a terrible mistake on the part of the US and Europe. Backing the fall of Libya did far more to incentivize countries not to give up nuclear programs than going after Iran will.

How? What is the difference? Iran came to the table and made a deal with the US and several European nations. A deal even Trump's own SecDef from his first term agreed Iran was adhering to. Tulsi Gabbard testified before Congress that Iranian officials were afraid even to mention nuclear weapons. There is no evidence Iran was trying to build nuclear weapons. There are even rumors Iran was willing to negotiate a new deal, but Nentenyahu needs more distractions to keep out of jail, so we needed to bomb them.

But, you know who we aren't attacking? North Korea. Pakistan. Russia. China. Countries that have done many of the same things Iran is accused of. Hell, Russia is Iran's main backer. But do you know what they have that Iran doesn't? Nuclear weapons.

So, it looks like having nuclear weapons is a great way to make sure the US doesn't invade.

Hassett: "At the White House, we've got our eyes on the prize and we believe we're gonna have a world with a much more stable Venezuela, a much more stable Iran that is a very reliable and safe supplier of energy, which will reduce risk premiums around the world and be cause for celebration."

Hasset, the man that replaced Martin Shkreli for most punchable face

Didn't want this to get lost in everything else going on. He only pardons the best.

The dems are too timid to do it, but they need to hype this in every election against any and all MAGA supporters of Trump running in 2026. Willie Horton part 2 them all.

Iran didn't give up their nuclear weapons program. Libya did. That's the difference.
There is no evidence Iran was trying to build nuclear weapons.
Are you really that gullible? If you mean they hadn't reached the point of trying to assemble a bomb, sure, they weren't at that stage. If you mean they weren't trying to create the capability to do so, you're sadly mistaken.
There are even rumors Iran was willing to negotiate a new deal
Oh, there were rumors. Well that solves everything.
So, it looks like having nuclear weapons is a great way to make sure the US doesn't invade.
That's always been the case. Everyone has always known that, it's been true for over 60 years. This isn't some new development, and pretending it is is stupid.

The more relevant question isn't about the risks and benefits of having nuclear weapons. The question which actually matters is the risks and benefits of trying to get nuclear weapons.

The Iran attack just raised the price of trying to get nuclear weapons.

Just 3 years ago, a resolution condemning the terrorist Iranian regime passed the House by a vote of 420-1.

Now 53 House Democrats just refused to reaffirm that Iran remains the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is melting their brains

was iran given notice of the strike to evacuate the civilians?

i think that’s pretty customary behavior for that reason. i’m lethalitymaxxing pete hesgeth doesn’t believe in such woke points of view on war tho
Where the hell did you get the idea that informing an adversary about exactly you are going to strike was customary behavior?

They had no nuclear weapons program.
Are you really that gullible? If you mean they hadn't reached the point of trying to assemble a bomb, sure, they weren't at that stage. If you mean they weren't trying to create the capability to do so, you're sadly mistaken.
They had no nuclear weapons program. Gullible would be falling for this lie again.
Oh, there were rumors. Well that solves everything.
Tell us more about this nuclear weapons program even Tulsi Gabbard said they didn't have
That's always been the case. Everyone has always known that, it's been true for over 60 years. This isn't some new development, and pretending it is is stupid.
Right, because it isn't about security.
The more relevant question isn't about the risks and benefits of having nuclear weapons. The question which actually matters is the risks and benefits of trying to get nuclear weapons.
Iran had no nuclear weapons program.
The Iran attack just raised the price of trying to get nuclear weapons.
No, it demonstrated the futility of dealing with underendowed pedophiles in good faith. The US has no credibility. We will just claim "they have nukes!" and kill thousands of innocent people and watch government officials have a circle jerk about it live on air.

Where the hell did you get the idea that informing an adversary about exactly you are going to strike was customary behavior?
well that's not really what i said either, is it?

anyway, i'd assume it's so they don't get accused of humanitarian crisises by killing a bunch of kids.

anyway, here's an example

VARNEY: The midterms are months away. How soon can we expect the jobs picture to pick up sharply with more jobs coming into the economy?

LORI CHAVEZ DeREMER: I think we have seen that tick up a little bit. Overall, we're still better that what we inherited from the Biden administration

riiiiiiiiiiightttttt

"A report from the Labor Department Friday shows employers cut 92,000 jobs in February, when economists had expected the U.S. would continue adding jobs, albeit at a sluggish pace. The unemployment rate inched up to 4.4%.

Job gains for December and January were also revised downward, with December now showing a net loss 17,000 jobs."

Iran has been breaking its various obligations for decades. That's not according to the US, that's according to the IAEA. What on earth makes you think they would have stuck to that one? They didn't.
Is that true? It appeared to adhere to its commitments under UNSC resolution 2231 until the US broke the agreement. What obligations did it have? Was it any worse in this respect than e.g. Israel?

Said Trump and Israel. And you, apparently. According to most sources, thst is not true; they were in compliance until Trump withdrew in 2018, and then gradually reduced that compliance. But of course we have learnt now that you can obliterate Iranian nuclear capabilities pne month, and they are still close to having nukes a few months later, so it's probably a cottage industry by now.

Is that true?
Yes. Iran is a signatory to the NPT. They have failed to meet their obligations under the NPT for literally decades. For example:
Their obligations under the NPT did not depend upon their deal with the US, and did not end when we withdrew from the deal.
Was it any worse in this respect than e.g. Israel?
Israel is not a signatory to the NPT (neither are Pakistan or India). It therefore has no obligations under the NPT.
