The agency had previously said that no flights would be allowed to or from the airport until Feb. 20 under an order that cited unspecified “special security reasons.”
 
It rather sounds as if the FAA couldn't get a straight answer out of Hegseth's Department of Attacking Things, so they eventually just had to say nobody can fly as we can't tell what's safe. This appears to have got a reaction and broken the log jam.

If that's really what happened, I expect some form of petty revenge to follow, for making them look bad.

The thing that caught my eye in Andy's post above was the on-screen headline "Trump: Tariffs raised over Swiss leader's tone."

A quick google reveals he didn't like the way a female (are you surprised?) Swiss official spoke to him, and he decided to punish her entire country because she didn't seem to know her place.
