Trump's Second Term

I have noticed that a couple of my real-life American friends who, without doubt, voted for Trump three times, have withdrawn from social media recently. They used to post frequently, but I always thought they went quiet after each of Trump's worst outrages. Now, as I say, they seem to have gone altogether. Our friendships has been under prolonged, if quiet, strain due to the gulf in politics, so I don't feel up to contacting them. But I get the impression both likely feel some shame at Trump. Both were strong 2A supporters, so the shooting of an American who was in legal possession of a gun could not have been easy to process. Nor could Trump's attacks on its traditional allies.

Anyone else notice this amongst their (at least one-time) Trump-supporting friends?
One element that disappoints me is that even if the foregoing were true, I suspect that both would be likely to once more vote for Trump if he were standing in an election tomorrow.

Not a cult

Michele Bachmann gushes that Trump is "absolutely handsome" and in "incredible shape": "I'd put Donald Trump up against Gavin Newsom any day of the week, and Gavin wouldn't even be in the same league as Donald Trump."

True that Bachmann, Newsom is Premier League and TACO is barely hanging on in the pub Sunday League.

. . . and?
What is the point of just dumping DOW prices without comment or conversation?
It's because investors are beginning to realise that the likes of nvidia are dependent on the likes of openai continuing to buy their GUIs. And that nvidia are now lending hundreds of billions to openai and other "ai" companies because their such huge default risks no banks will lend to them and the vulture funds are all tapped out already.

The market is worried about nvidia's current strategy of shoring up it's sales by giving loans it'll never see apenny in repayment for.

Pentagon to cut ties with Harvard over ‘wokesters’, ending training, programs and fellowships

The US defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, has said the Pentagon is ending all military training, fellowships and certificate programs with Harvard University, marking the Trump administration’s latest escalation against the Ivy League school.

“The @DeptWar is formally ending ALL Professional Military Education, fellowships, and certificate programs with Harvard University,” Hegseth said in a statement posted on X, labeling Harvard as “woke”.

Fine. So what about all the military students who are part-way through their degrees there? Going to ruin their careers over some thin-skinned snowflake peeve with education?
