Trump's Second Term

Ah yes. The free market that could tell people with pre-existing conditions to go away or deny continuing coverage if you develop an ongoing condition.

We tried that Mikey.
They preach and preach this free market nonsense and people believe it, despite decades of evidence showing that everything they preach about it is wrong.

Well done Mike

FREE SPEECH is a cherished and protected right in America.

But this weekend we saw the far Left advocate for VIOLENCE against a President who’s survived two assassination attempts, and Democrats aligning with these COMMUNIST groups that REJECT everything America stands for.

It’s time for Democrats to stop the madness!

It's amazing, but not suprising, that they went from "this will be a violent protest by terrorists" to "they are advocating for violence." Lies, lies and more lies is their strategy. Sadly, it works and convinces too many people.

It's not just the politicians. I've maintained communication with a handful of friends who are now MAGA, and they are lockstep in the same mentality. I need to "grow a spine" and "lighten up" cause it is just a "joke"

None of us outside the cult think it is funny. But social media and the need to protect their worldview has completely obliterated any sense of ethics or morality they once had. They still have some of it--it is buried in there, but identity protection will not allow them to access it.
If we can't agree on an even basic sense of what is right or wrong, we are in trouble. Because there is *no* line to cross when the basics have been thrown out.

I don't know if you saw it, but the video of the protesters tripping and mocking the MAGA dude at the Denver rally is a bit worrisome. Sure, he was asking for trouble and got it, and sure, it was an isolated thing in an otherwise very peaceful day of protests--but I wonder if this is going to escalate quickly. Because once people lose their sense of right or wrong, it's game over. Even with my once-sane friends, I could see them turning to violence. There's no lack of historical precedence.
We all know that if it was a Democrat that posted a similar vidoe, those MAGA people would be very offended and upset by it. Sadly, what they don't understand is that most Democrats would also be offended and upset. This is a key difference between Republicans and Democrats.

That's the British army's job!

I don't mind the notion of Presidents renovating the White House. Pres. Truman essentially gutted the White House and made it what we see today. The East Wing as we know it today was built in the 1940s, kind of like the House of Commons was restored after the wartime bombing. It's not as if your tour of the White House is showing you the way it was when it was first built. What I object to is Pres. Trump trying to replace a historic building (even if it's only 80 years of history) with his gaudy, tasteless hotel style.
To add a bit of context to Truman's actions, though... at the time, the White House was declared to be in danger of collapsing and was already bad enough that a piano leg broke through a floor/ceiling. That's very good cause for very serious structural work.

Going a bit further, the White House has been renovated a number of times, though, and yes, Trump wanting to renovate the White House isn't actually a problem. There's a bunch of problems with the whats and the hows, though, as well as the sycophancy of the Republican Party.

Ah, now I understand! This whole ballroom thing is just a cover: they needed to make urgent structural reinforcements to the White House because the building is in danger of collapsing under Trump's weight.

More to the point--his density. He is acting like a black hole, sucking in the building around him--the walls are closing in both metaphorically and physically ;)

It was pointed out to me that people don't make major renovations like this if they plan on being there temporarily, unless they are renovating to raise the value before selling....
Trump wants the fact that he was President permanently recorded. He wants everyone who does the tour of the White House for centuries to come to be confronted with the evidence for, and reminded of, that fact. Which is why I hope whoever comes next immediately restores it to how it was before the US electorate took leave of their senses and elected him.

So much winning!
He just told Senate Republicans that he wants to get rid of Social Security and Medicare. We told you so a million times and the MAGA Morons still cheer!

He owes himself a lot of money.

COLLINS: The NYT is reporting your legal team is seeking $230 million from your own DOJ now in response to the investigations into you. Is that something you want?

TRUMP: It could be, yeah. I don't even talk to them about it. All I know is they would owe me a lot of money. They rigged the election.

The _____ ballroom is supposedly going to be 90,000 square feet? 90,000 square feet for a ballroom/dining room? The best that I've been able to determine is that the ballroom (the largest room) in Buckingham Palace is a mere 6,800 square feet (the state dining room in Windsor Castle is only around 5,400 square feet and the state dining room at 10 Downing Street is a mere 1,100 square feet). Is there actually a need for a room that's more than 10 times the size of the ballroom in Buckingham Palace? What is really being constructed?

(For a size comparison, the size of the fields for American football is less than 60,000 square feet.)
