Trump's promised ICE raids have begun

He has the option of self deporting. As everyone illegal does. But IIRC, we were lectured not too long ago that there are no hellhole countries.
I think you're missing a point or two. For one thing, Reformed Offlian did not say "hellhole country," but "hellhole" alone. It is not necessary, for example, for El Salvador or Libya to be a hellhole country for it to have a notoriously hellish prison, and our administration has made it clear that they have no compunction about sending people, not only to terrible locations, but to countries the immigrants in question have not even visited.

In any case, perhaps this discussion would do better in the "leopard meet face" thread, since it does not matter, I think, what the people you have so cavalierly categorized as "pro" this or that espouse, since in this case, what is happening to Yannoppoulos is exactly what he said he sought for everyone. Having condemned the opinion of others, the remaining issue is the application of his own publicly asserted principles to himself.

I suppose if one of those you so consistently disparage were a true and deeply principled Christian, or a fundamentalist civil libertarian, you might get away with saying he ought to apply those principles even to their enemies, but it's a lot to ask of anyone but a saint, and to invoke those principles honestly is to abandon your own.

I think it's important to note that Milo was not just calling for strict enforcement of Immigration law, nor even just for added action against illegal to immigrants. He was calling for ICE agents to harass citizens without cause as they go about their daily business. He was calling for citizens to have to carry proof of citizenship all the time, everywhere, every time in defense against the arbitrary invasion and impediment to what we have, as Americans, come to consider normal life. He was, in short, calling for the life of all of us to become more burdensome, uglier and nastier, more like the kind of society where secret police randomly demand to see your papers. Perhaps it's not relevant whether he should have been deported just because he fit his own criteria for it, but because he's outspokenly and explicitly an enemy of American life.

That would describe every member of the anti immigration mob.

I don't even know what to say anymore. Anyone who defends this is inhuman.

Student who felt ‘humiliated' by ICE ankle monitor dies by suicide

In May, the Springfield City School District featured Bel in a Facebook post highlighting recipients of a local scholarship that offered $2,500 to each student. Bel wore a blue suit and a black bow tie as he accepted his award, with a big smile on his face.

The future seemed bright.

Things began to change July 29, when ICE placed him in an “alternatives to detention program” with an ankle monitor while he continued his immigration proceedings.

He documented the experience on social media, writing July 30 that he came to the country to study, not “commit a crime or hurt anyone.”

“Yet now I’m walking through the streets of the United States with a GPS monitor on my leg, carrying a feeling of shame and humiliation that I never imagined I would experience,” he wrote.

British right-wing political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos has been deported from the United States after being detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Yiannopoulos, 41, a former editor of Breitbart News and one time political aide to rapper Kanye West, was deported on Friday, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Yiannopoulos, "an illegal alien from the United Kingdom" had been sent "back to his home country", a DHS spokesperson said in a statement given to the BBC.

Like it or not, this makes me a political prisoner, a persecuted human rights icon. I am Mahatma Gandhi. I am Nelson Mandela. I’m not exactly sure who Aung San Suu Kyi is, and can’t be bothered to look it up, but, yes, I am him too. https://spectator.com/article/i-am-a-persecuted-human-rights-icon/

Seeing Milo's life fall apart makes me so happy.

Some people really should've learned by now what happens when they cross the wrong person.

I reached out to sources at DHS and they told me his claim that multiple ICE agents walked off the job because they didn't want to detain him is completely fabricated.

I look forward to @DHSgov and @ICEgov releasing the body cam footage so everyone can see what a pathological liar Milo is.

Also, his claim that "Washington" was calling every 20 minutes is absurd.

Besides, how would he know?? He was in captivity.

Outrageous lies from a foreigner who broke our laws.

Let's remind ourselves what Milo thinks about ICE and illegal immigrants:
He has also cheered on ICE raids, writing on X last year: "Total legal immunity for ICE agents when they're on duty."

He posted in 2025: "We have got to deport millions and millions of people. Without that, nothing else matters."

Yiannopoulos also advocated "on the spot deportation for anyone who can't prove they are in the US legally" on social media.
