Two ordinary young people remonstrating with ICE agents get pepper sprayed in the face, quite maliciously and for no reason at all.
I've commented about this in another thread which was asking when will Trump declare martial law, he's pretty much done that with ICE.

It's now been reported that the feds only entered apartments containing squatters who, of course, were not paying rent. Did you not think it odd that in one of your pictures of "destruction" that we see piles of clothes in the floor and no furniture?I didn't even know about this until Andy posted. This should be at the top of every news website's main page, the top story on TV network news, front page of newspapers.
There is NO free and independent major media anymore. You have to dig to find out about this.

If it is the federal government/ICE that is reporting "we only entered apartments containing squatters", remember that the Trump administration is considered by most people here to be an untrustworthy source. We have seen regular abuses by the government over immigration, and lying about ICE searching apartments would certainly be consistent with past actions.

One of the (many) worst things about all this is, none of the principals -- trump, Vance, Noem -- respond to any of the concerns citizens are voicing about the way ICE agents are behaving. The things they're doing to people, to communities. No explanations, no rationalizations, nothing. What are we supposed to think? This is exactly the way trump, Vance, Noem et al want it? A reign of terror unleashed on American citizens?

Aaand we add a second poster to the list of people actually trying to excuse/defend this. Let's say the reporting (and yes, from who?) is true; WTF does it matter if the innocent people zip-tied and the naked children dragged out of their beds onto the street, were squatters or residents?! This is like in 2020 when the far-right argued it was okay for police to kill someone over allegedly paying with a counterfeit bill because he was high on illegal narcotics.

I'm not even going to argue the point. This is making the whole Western world look bad (in addition to all the other things the West is doing, of course). I'm furious at my homeland's media's refusal to give the current regime the same scrutinty they did Biden, for example. This raid? Should've been headline news, instead they're covering... :quickly checks random paper: somebody named Kjersti Armstrong who moved to the US and is now being referred to as 'first lady' (never heard of), Dump criticizing European immigration policy, the Diddy trial, Dump brokering peace between Israel and HAMAS, and the extortion of US media. Oh, and did you hear Taylor Swift has released a new album?!
Not a word about the Blitz. Hardly a word about his low energy appearances and failing physical and cognitive health, or how he's repeatedly failed to make public appearances for days at a time. And so on, and so forth.
One could argue that it wouldn't matter because Norway is far from the US, but it absolutely does. News have a tendency to travel and media in one country can be a role model for others. I found a French news broadcast on the MAGA situation on YouTube recently and there were Americans marvelling in the comments that French news were so to-the-point and just covering the facts.
Oh, and maybe it's time we were all harsher on the USA. Condemnation, boycotts, tariffs, whatever, bring it on. Let them know their actions are totally unacceptable to the free world.
