Trump's promised ICE raids have begun

And we must also renember that they were white Christians! Which of course allowed, nay, demanded of them, to religiously cleanse the land that God had given them! So not immigrants at all.

From the premier episode of "Daria":

Mr. DeMartino - Daria, can you concisely and unemotionally sum up for us the doctrine of Mainfest Destiny?

Daria - Mainfest Destiny was a slogan popular in the 1840s. It was used by people who claimed it was God's will for the U.S. to expand all the way to the Pacific Ocean. These people did not include many Mexicans.

I have tried, but failed, to find the words i need to express my feelings on reading this. I suspect that Resume may have used some of them up, but the rest i'm not sure about; maybe they just gave up once they realised the enormity if the task? Andy Ogles; those immigrants were not immigrants, since they settled in the place they immigrated to. And he's a congressman. Isn't that just peachy?
It's the English "we're not immigrants, we're expats" thing. And of course, without their African slaves and Celtic indentured servants, they'd never have gotten anything done.

It's the same here; Swedes who have moved abroad are utlandssvenskar (lit. abroadswedes), never immigrants.

The far right often talk about moving, since Sweden is apparently impossible to live in, because of all the immigrants. It never fails to amuse me that the irony of that seems beyond their understanding.

"I'm so sure that Sadiq Kahn is going to impose Shakira Law* on London that I'm moving to Dubai to escape"

ICE traps roofers on top of suburban home pointing multiple guns—in front of children playing.

Agents shut down entire job site leaving hole in roof—despite the contractor confirming all his employees had work visas.

"Two agents chased one guy down our street with guns drawn," neighbor said. "This is a home they surrounded with guns - I have children."

DHS released a statement claiming that the raid was part of a targeted arrest—but it was necessary to briefly detain everyone they "suspect" might be illegal.

The incident occurred in Kenner, Louisiana—about 10 miles northwest of New Orleans.

That's a fake one isn't it?
I don't know now, but I there was a DHS video featuring an excerpt from Isaiah, so I assumed it was just more of the same propaganda.

The one-minute video opens with footage of helicopters taking off, and a man with a thick Southern accent says, “Here’s a Bible verse I think about sometimes. Many times.” As people in military fatigues don masks and ready weapons inside the helicopter, the man quotes Isaiah 6:8: “I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’”

As the helicopter takes off, a sonorous cover of Johnny Cash’s “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” plays before the man finishes the verse: “I said, ‘Here am I. Send me.’” A cut to a close-up of an arm patch that reads “U.S. Customs and Border Protection.” The final half of the video cycles through shots of ICE agents patrolling a river, flying over the border wall, and looking through night vision while singers chant, “Sooner or later, God’ll cut you down.
