Everyone who saw the organizing of the 'event' online planned for 'all hell to break loose', that's why they came with weapons and body armor. There may have been two separate levels of organization, with many expecting to come sit outside the Capitol (the pallets of chairs) but others always intended to enter the building and kill the traitorous lawmakers.

I know I thought Ron Paul's Waco Whackos (Oath Keepers) which I have
had run ins with in the past would try and Breach the Capitol, but I thought they would be met by National Guard alot sooner than they were.
Ron Paul's Waco Whackos were talking about an Insurrection in 2008 if Obama won, but the were convinced by Myself and others on the old MySpace Republican forum, that they could succeed with out Military Support, and the United States Military would never support an Insurrection!
I was not on Parlor this time to talk sense into the idiots, and Doubt anyone could have talked Rationally to them.

In related news, Dominion sues Newsmax, One America over U.S. election fraud claims


(Reuters) -Dominion Voting Systems Corp on Tuesday sued two conservative media networks, One America News Network and Newsmax Media Inc, saying they defamed the U.S. voting machine company by spreading false claims that it rigged the 2020 election against then-U.S. President Donald Trump.

Dominion also filed a lawsuit making similar allegations against businessman Patrick Byrne, the former chief executive of online retailer Overstock.com Inc.

The lawsuits are the latest legal actions taken by Denver-based Dominion against Trump allies that amplified false theories about the firm.

In each of the three lawsuits filed on Monday, Dominion is seeking more than $1.6 billion in damages, citing lost profits and other harms.

Republicans like to point out that during his Jan 6th speech, Trump didn't tell them to take over the government.



In the days preceding, however, he tweeted things like "My followers won't allow this to happen, just you wait and see." He may have thought he was establishing plausible deniability but his intent was clear.

I don't think you were very far off. Trump might even have used the military if he could be assured of success, he just wasn't willing to take any risks. Once he saw that he didn't have the support and might end up in prison he bailed.

Being forced by a court to admit deceit is one thing--they can always say "we had to or else go bankrupt from this overreaching court!"

But what evidence comes up under discovery can be more impactful--if they wind up revealing they knew it was false more openly, instead of "failing to perform due diligence" etc.

I don't think a court would just order them to admit they were lying unless there was substantial evidence that they knew they were lying.

I think he might have Tried to use the military to over throw the Constitution but I think the honor of the men and women in Uniform would have prevented it, or atleast I hoped it would.

There is nothing Trump would not do if he thought it would regain him the presidency. He has no morals, no honor, and no concern for anyone (including his children) or anything except himself.

Already the Dominion lawsuits have made it past the stage of the election lawsuits.
 
Fake Republican Dan Crenshaw is in the news for saying Biden didn't steal the election. Maybe he can go back to paling around with his celebrity friends from SNL.

Yup, and he's getting heckled by the MAGAchud because of it.

Note that he's a guy who 1) voted against a Jan6 commission to investigate the riot, 2) supported a lawsuit that would have invalidated millions of votes, and 3) advocated for the suppression of voter rights.

So I guess its a question of 'purity'.
