Trump on Fox phone in yesterday

Our Supreme Court and our courts didn't have the courage to overturn elections"

Fox is complicit in promoting this crap. As Frank Meeink, a reformed White Supremacist says, Fox helped radicalize the far right and they continue to do so by giving Trump a platform to spread his lies. Fox is nothing but a propaganda machine.

It happened; the Fake Media isn't reporting on it. Trump is in the Oval Office now and Biden is running for Mexico. Only Tucker Carlson and Hannity are telling us the Real Truth. ;)
This is the sort of nonsense you get from stupid sources when someone doesn't kick Tucker C fair in the balls every time he utters one of these bilge-spews publicly. ;)

As long as bail is denied, these folks will stay locked up until an outright acquittal. I am kind of surprised that people have been denied bail. In murder cases they will often set it at some high figure they know the defendant can't afford, but technically they could get out on bail.

I want the riot participants to really think on whether the photo opp was worth the years (in some cases) of freedom they will lose.

I wouldn’t count on many of them realizing the error of their ways.

Given that a poll of Trump voters a few years ago showed that they thought whites were discriminated against more than members of any other race and that Christians were discriminated against more than members of any other religion, I suspect these goofballs will consider themselves political prisoners who are being kept down by a corrupt and biased system.

If anyone in the FBI had the foresight, they would put everyone on the 'incarcerated because of Jan 6th." list on the Aryan Brotherhood list straight away.
Just saves time.

Now the Republicans are fighting a bipartisan House commission looking into Jan. 6
insurrection on the grounds it would be 'repetitive' despite the fact they had SIX GOP controlled House investigations into Benghazi. Even though a bipartisan group came to an agreement a few days ago, McCarthy and now McConnell are pushing back to prevent it. What are they so afraid of? The truth. McCarthy is afraid of being forced to testify under oath about his meeting with Trump and what was said by the former president because he knows how damaging it will be to the revisionist history the GOP is now so shamelessly pushing. The Republicans should change their motto from "the party of family values" to the party of "don't believe your lying eyes; believe what we tell you".

Wasn't cause of death determined by the medical examiner? I don't know if manner of death has been determined yet, but it sure seems like the investigation into cause is over with.

We were told by the police that the officer was attacked by a protester who hit him over the head with a fire extinguisher which lead to his death. Turned out not to be true. No fire extinguisher involved.
Cause of death determined by medical examiner was series of strokes. What do you mean by "manner of death"?

Cause of Death= A medical opinion of the disease or injury that resulted in a person’s death. (What the person died of)

Manner of Death= Classification system developed for public health statistics based on the circumstances under which death occurred (How the person died); Manners of death currently includes 5 categories:
Accident= An unexpected or unforeseen death due to injury.
Homicide= Death as a result of a volitional act committed by another person (e.g. injury, poisoning).
Natural= Death due solely to natural disease.
Suicide= Death resulting from intentional self-inflicted act.
Undetermined= Manner of death used when the information pointing to one manner of death is no more compelling than another.

In other words, did the ME rule on whether the strokes (cause of death) were under one of the above 5 categories?

ETA: God I watch too many crime shows.

arent strokes basically lack of blood to parts of the brain? couldnt head trauma cause vessels to break, triggering the stroke?
Just thinking out loud here, in the voice of Dr. G, Medical Examiner. :D

Well first of all there are two kinds of stokes, the kind that you get by bleeding into your brain and the kind you get by having a clot obstruct an artery in the brain. They require very different treatments so figuring out which it is is kind of important

The defense lawyer for the QAnon Shaman said "many Capitol riot defendants have mental impairments" and "they were subjected to four-plus years of goddamn propaganda the likes of which the world has not seen since ********** Hitler."

That's the best he can do.

Lol.

It's not wrong. When the propaganda is being generated/disseminated by multiple branches of the federal government, I think that's a reasonable defense. I don't think it clears anyone given that real information was available as well, but I think it should be considered as a mitigating factor during sentencing.

Propaganda as an excuse? Not me.

We all heard the Hitler-esque propaganda for four years (nice to hear someone admit it) and many people probably have "mental impairments", if that's even a thing.

Problem: the vast majority of us did not storm the Capitol building.

Mental disease is an issue worth considering. Stupidity not so much.

In fact let's make an effort to get rid of the stupid while we can, please.

I think you could have found this out for yourself if you had bothered to take the time. But since you asked:

Despite being sprayed with a chemical substance, Sicknick's manner of death was determined to be "natural," the medical examiner's office said. In the interview with the Post, Diaz said the autopsy found no evidence of internal or external injuries, or of an allergic reaction to the chemical substance — but did say "all that transpired played a role in his condition."

The "natural" classification is used "when a disease alone causes death," the medical examiner's office said in the summary. "If death is hastened by an injury, the manner of death is not considered natural."
