Cont: Trump’s Coup - Part 2

How does the discussion of Trump's coup extend past the peaceful transfer of power away from the Trump administration?

Shouldn't all the coup proponents be wallowing in private shame right now? Shouldn't everyone else be moving on other more pertinent concerns?

This thread should have died on inauguration day. Rent free, I guess.

Well, some of the coup proponents are in prison now, so they might be wallowing in private shame right now. Sydney Powell is still out there though, and she doesn't seemed ashamed.

Oh, I know you really would prefer we forget all about that and never mentioned it again.

All you do here lately is trolling. That says a lot about what your ideology that you support has to offer.

Well he's trolling in defense of the master troll. As far as I can tell, Trump's primary appeal to most Republicans was how good he was at trolling the libs. It likely would have gotten him re-elected too, if it wasn't for that virus.

And the foundung fathers leaving states the right to run elections.

I have seen this numerous times from Trumpers.

The obvious question is, why does Trump's incompetence managing the US response to the pandemic not bother them.

I imagine they imagine nothing could have been done. And like all the things they excuse Trump for, when you list all the things Trump could have and should have done, they tune it out.

And the foundung fathers leaving states the right to run elections.

That's not exactly what they said. They basically said "for now".

Article I Section 4
The times, places and manner of holding elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each state by the legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by law make or alter such regulations.

"States Rights" should have stopped being a thing (in anywhere near its original or even current version) right about the time half the states decided to fight a war over whether or not they got to own other people as property.

Also states which depend on federal government handouts to just get by shouldn't exist. If the Federal Government is really the one paying the bills, it's Federal Land.

Really? You think it's a good idea to bury one's head in the sand? Whatever happened to personal responsibility? That one can attempt a coup de etat and pay no penalty for that action? That we should just ignore a violent insurrection?

Now we should care about the legislature governing?
Let's see, what did the GOP Senate do the last 4 years? Was it 300 or 400 House bills that never even got a hearing in the Senate? I think the do nothing Republican Senators can spend a week or two between filibusters to preserve democracy and judge Trump for his high crimes.

If it was a president with a (D) by his name, Republicans would be all up in arms, demanding accountability. Democrats, as well, would be demanding accountability as well. Unlike Republicans, the Democrats will hold their own leaders accountable.

How many hearings did they hold on Ben Ghazzi or Emails or Uranium One? Didn't they discuss holding one over Obama's tan suit?

The Republicans poured over Benghazi more often than a 14 year old boy looks at porn in bed under the covers when his parents are out.

Again the fact the Republicans are hypocrites doesn't phase them in the slightest, especially given how often the only real result of it is "They get their way in situations where the Democrats don't."

Yeah they are hypocriting more than a Master Hypocrite with an Automatic Hypocriting Machine during the Festival of Hypocrisy.

They got their 3 SCOTUS judges and we didn't get one.

So who's really laughing here?

That's why I have no problem running them over during this administration.
I'm convinced that we pass a voting rights act. Institute a comprehensive reapportionment act. And finally make Puerto Rico and possibly DC a State. Now is the time to grab and exercise as much power as possible.

No way would I have let my 14 yr old son have an I-phone. He'd have had a simple phone that would have called me, his grandparents, friends, a few select numbers and 911.

I wouldn't either. But even cheap phones can connect to the Internet today.

Of course hypocrisy doesn't faze Republicans, as they define "right" as "whatever a Republican does" and "wrong" as "whatever a Democrat does", especially if they are the same thing.

In the past I'm compared how Republicans process Democrats calling them "hypocrites" as (somewhat) comparable to how one would react if your child called you a hypocrite because you get to determine their bedtime but they don't get to determine yours.

They see their own superiority in the hierarchy as so obvious and so self evident that they simply have never developed the mental pathways to explain way.
