Trump's Coup d'état.

I see Powell's "Kraken" lawsuit in Michigan was dismissed last night. "Laches" again.

"Plaintiffs proffer no persuasive explanation why they waited so long to file this suit. ....Indeed, where there is no explanation, there can be no true justification. Defendants satisfy the first element of their laches defense."

And in conclusion.

"Plaintiffs ask the Court to ignore the orderly statutory scheme established to challenge elections and to ignore the will of millions of voters. This, the Court cannot and will not, do.

The people have spoken."

That's a horrible idea.

We can't start going into election having to figure out if we're really electing the Presidential Candidate or the VP Candidate.

An elected President stepping down just because they want the VP to be Presi dent would be a massive breach of the public trust.

There was a time when I would listen to the reasoning behind labeling that a massive breach of public trust. But after 4 years of President Me-Me-Mine-Me-Me, it’s going to take something outlandishly gargantuan for me to describe some presidential action as “a massive breach of the public trust. “

Again, "compromise" is a concept from the old "facts" world and hasn't been re-adjusted to our new "post-fact" world.

You can't compromise if facts don't matter. You can't do anything if facts don't matter.

Exactly!!

.........

As for pardons, I don’t think if it were in my hands I could resist saying, “well, I was going to pardon Trump in the spirit of bipartisanship, but after the way you guys filled RBG’s seat, Eff all you effing a-holes [flipping the double bird]. #DiaperDon is going to feel the full weight of the US justice system.”

ETA
“and let justice roll down as waters. I wish there were a better way to explain the importance of the Rule of Law, but there isn’t. I wish there were a simpler way to explain that there must be one standard for both parties, but there isn’t.”

That's how Trump wins. It's still as massive a breach of the public trust as it ever was, however much more massive a breach is literally everything Trump has ever done.

Shame doesn't work on Republicans.

We aren't going to win by doing some symbolic act that finally shows everyone how evil/wrong/hypocritical the Republicans are. They will revel in it and come out looking better.

Kraken isn't kraken the way it use to.

That's five on Friday and two today.

Federal Court in Georgia just dismissed Trump's Georgia "Kraken" lawsuit.

1. Case is a state case.
2. Plaintiffs lack standing
and of course
3. Laches

If Trump was going to go skulking off into the shadows for the rest of his life, maybe Biden would pardon him in some kind of stupid effort to be “post-Partisan” or something. But it’s looking more and more like Trump isn’t going away anytime soon. Last rumors I heard, the Trump team was looking at a televised “Going into exile before his 2024 run” pageant to be run contemporaneously with the Biden inauguration.?

Works for me.
I can’t think of anything more entertaining than seeing President Chucklehead being served subpoenas on live TV.

This one didn't even get out of the courtroom. Judge dismissed from the bench. Basically, "you're wasting my time"

I'm sticking to my belief that these lawsuits were intentionally filed too late so that they would be dismissed on "laches" rather than due to a lack of evidence. This way they can claim that their supposed evidence was never given the opportunity to be fully evaluated in a court hearing.

So use fear. Charge and convict every one of them you can, and maybe the others will think twice, at least about things that are actual crimes.

Get them scared enough, and maybe they'll even rethink a few things that are just crime-adjacent.

it's so hard to see into these deranged minds.

At this point, I'm leaning toward agreeing with you, with the idea that this whole legal fight is a charade to set up his next con job.

I think the PA suit was filed late so that the only possible remedy would be overturning all the votes--or all the mail in votes, hahaha. They wanted to "flip the game board" with a court case.

Yep. Apparently attorneys were uproariously laughing in the hallways after the decision

Here is audio of Judge Batten dismissing the suit. The first two minutes are from the court

The final 4 minutes of the clip is political commentary created by the uploader.

I don't think so. But any attorney worth a retainer had to see the laches problem with the lawsuits. I listened to Sydney Powell's arguments to the court today and she sounded like a loon.
