I'm sure they want him talking on stage so he doesn't live-Tweet. They also probably convinced him that the speech would distract the public from the Comey testimony. The fact is, the people who planned to watch Comey will still watch Comey. He must be nervous about what Comey can say since he's being buggy about it.

If Comey says nothing more that, " I am not at liberty to discuss anything referring to President Trump because of the FBI's current CRIMINAL investigation of Donald Trump and I wouldn't want to jeopardize his pending removal from office and incarceration." (Ok, thats a little extreme) but anything just hinting at more things coming at Trump will drive Trump even crazier. Trump and his cronies have been acting exactly like guilty people. The FBI knows this very well.

I guess the other news of note from yesterdays press briefing was Spicer confirming that the President's Tweets are official White House Statements. As i understand that, that should make those tweets part of official presidential records. What about those that Trump deletes? I guess he can consult Hillary on how to handle them.
"Irony, can get pretty ironic"

3 senior FBI officials can vouch for Comey’s story about Trump

One by one this winter, then-FBI Director James B. Comey pulled aside three of the bureau’s top officials for private chats. In calm tones, he told each of them about a private Oval Office meeting with President Trump — during which, Comey alleged, the president pressed him to shut down the federal criminal investigation of Trump’s then-national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

Those three officials, according to two people with detailed, firsthand knowledge of the matter, were Jim Rybicki, Comey’s chief of staff and senior counselor; James Baker, the FBI’s general counsel; and Andrew McCabe, then the bureau’s deputy director, and now the acting director, following Trump’s firing of Comey last month. Comey spoke to them within two days of his Oval conversation with Trump, the sources said, and recounted the president’s comments about the Flynn investigation.

Good morning Fast Eddie B.
Doesn't he need to cross the 30,000 tweet threshold first?

Then Bleachbit might be the most elegant solution!
He can cross that level just correcting his spelling errors trying to make one coherent post. Covfefe

The latest news is that Trump is giving a speech while Comey is testifying.

According to Time, it's to religious conservatives:

President Donald Trump has scheduled a speech addressing religious conservatives around the same time that former FBI director James Comey is expected to testify before Congress.

The Faith and Freedom Coalition's "Road to Majority" conference announced Tuesday that the president had agreed to address the annual gathering Thursday.

Faith and Freedom spokesman Lance Lemmonds says the president is expected to speak at 12:30 p.m. EDT.

He's still got a couple of hours to love tweet though

I predict nothing of substance will happen.

Comey will testify, and people will *GASP* in shock. And that's it.

President Trump will tweet nasty things in response. His approval rating will continue to plummet.

No impeachment.

Senate Intelligence Committee hearing today: all four giving testimony dodged the Trump question saying they never felt pressured but refusing to say if Trump had asked them in any way to quash the investigation. They went so far as to refuse to answer if they had any written records of their meetings with Trump. And they gave unclear answers when asked to commit to answering the questions in the classified hearing later in the afternoon.

Asked if there was any legal reason Rosenstein could give for refusing to answer and he said, no.

While i appreciate you posting updates as always, I give absolutely no credit to any polls about Trump anymore. He's too much of a polarising figure for any poll to be fully representative.

I think polls still have a place, but we've learned that some are more informative than others.

In this example, ABC/WaPo poll probably has an insurmountable selection bias, plus it's just one polling methodology.

In contrast, I like [FiveThirtyEight's Trump Popularity] monitoring. Five independent methodologies from firms that are not joined at the hip to any media outlet.

From Comey's statement.

"He said he had nothing to do with Russia, had not been involved with hookers in Russia, and had always assumed he was being recorded when in Russia"

So the pee pee tape is real.

Sounds like contempt of congress
