Good skepticism on the memo actually existing. Now, apply that to your earlier question, why didn't Comey disclose it? How in fact do you know he didn't disclose it? There's no legal or moral obligation to report to the *public* at every step in an investigation. You would not know if he shared it in confidence with law enforcement officials.

None of us has the the whole picture.

Not so fast, Comey apparently testified before congress on May 3rd? And was directly asked if there was any obstruction, he said no.

It is very common in conspiracy investigations to let things play out. He may have been keeping quiet to see what else would happen. It's not as if he's obligated to be honest when discussing an ongoing investigation.

In his opinion there wasn't. Other opinions may differ. This is why we have juries.

There's a decent case to be made that the memo itself was not obstruction, but the memo combined with the subsequent dismissal was.

You mean what was in the memo.

And I agree. Intent is important in think Comey's memo in combination with Trump's termination letter of Comey together make pretty compelling evidence.

logger doesn't know what he was talking about. The question was regarding the AG and other high ranking officials at the Justice Department.

HIRONO: So if the Attorney General or senior officials at the Department of Justice opposes a specific investigation, can they halt that FBI investigation?

COMEY: In theory yes.

HIRONO: Has it happened?

COMEY: Not in my experience. Because it would be a big deal to tell the FBI to stop doing something that -- without an appropriate purpose. I mean where oftentimes they give us opinions that we don't see a case there and so you ought to stop investing resources in it. But I'm talking about a situation where we were told to stop something for a political reason, that would be a very big deal. It's not happened in my experience.

And even without the context of the question, logger is still misrepresenting what it says. Comey says he wasn't told to stop something for a political reason. But from what's been reported, Trump asked (not told) Comey to let Flynn go because he's a good guy and didn't do anything wrong.

The political angle entered the equation when Trump fired Comey. And again, let's not forget Comey is a law enforcement official and is under no obligation to be fully forthcoming about an ongoing investigation. Which this is.

Also he was only asked about the Attorney General or senior officials at the Department of Justice. That doesn't cover the President.

It's a Macbeth reference.

'By the pricking of my thumbs,. Something wicked this way comes. Open, locks,. Whoever knocks. I can tell that something wicked is coming by the tingling in my thumbs'.

Maybe not hilarious but it's funny to me.

Ray Bradbury got the title of his best Novel from that quote.

Many people want all the police to wear recording body cameras. Will we need the Washington politicians to wear them? It would settle arguments over who said what to whom. :D

Its plain to see that his statement was broad, so yeah you're wrong.
