I'm not seeing it on any news site.

In any case, strange timing as Comey just lied (er, misrepresented) about how Huma Abedin's emails ended up on Carlos Danger's computer.

Comey is a strange cat. I can't figure him out.

If the Republicans let this stand the corruption is on their hands.

They don't need Comey, but they certainly need to stop Trump from quashing the investigation into Trump's corruption.

Long overdue. Now if only he can find a way to dissolve Congress and vacate the courts.

Not seeing this on any newsite, either.
I think this is going to happen..the guy has become too much of an am embarrassment, and has managed to make BOTH parties in congress mistrust him...but this has not been confirmed.

There you go.

Wow. This is scary stuff. You can bet every ******* Republican Congressperson is going to be defending this.

Can you imagine the cries of outrage if Obama did this during one of the 340985723098457 Benghazi "investigations?"

Now it is breaking all over the Newsites. Guess it takes them a few minutes to actually write the story...

Hate to defend Trump, but the FBI head serves at the pleasure of the President, and the President can fire him for any reason, good or bad.
He needs to be confirmed by Congress, but the POTUS retains the right of Dimissal.

Don't like Trump anymore then you do, but let's keep the paranoia down.
You can bet this story is not going to die. And Comey might well decide to get revenge by leaking stuff to the media.

Only 1 director has ever been fired, and that was due to ethics violations.

Now, certainly seems like you could find something on Comey given his inconsistent behavior, but there is no precedent for a firing due to political decisions.

Given that the FBI is investigating Trump's team, this looks even worse. I sincerely hope that Congress grows a *********** pair.

I can. He was a decent guy for the most part but his hatred for Clinton dripped out.

When he testified about the last minute letter to Congress, he outright accused Clinton of being guilty while Comey claimed he thought the proof was in the first 3 months of emails that were deleted. He never allowed for other possibilities.

IOW, he believed her guilty and when he found nothing he refused to give up that belief.

Trump camp is claiming this is about not pursuing Clinton's emails.

But it's supposed to be a 10-year term to isolate him from political pressures. That's why the FBI director doesn't resign like other top officials when the administration changes. Commentators are already comparing this to the Cox firing.

Hope so. It's just that time and time again, Trump flouts tradition and custom and people turn a blind eye. When he starts firing people investigating him, that's when it gets scary.

Hell, he very clearly threatened Yates before her testimony. Any other president attempting to intimidate a witness like that would have caused a national scandal - it's an abuse of power - but with Trump we just shrug our shoulders.

this is some ********** up ****.

i hope this is the beginning of the end for Trump.

this was nothing less than a political, Stalinist purge.

Trump sees Comey as a threat to his power, so he fired him.

Trump is justifying the firing because of Comey's press conference in May, when he accused Hillary of being very careless with the emails.

he's desperate for excuses.
