True Stupidity: Sarah Palin On Evolution

I'm a republican.

I did not vote in the last presidential election, partially because of Palin's selection. I was really not impressed.

But still...

1) to paint her as unqualified really glosses over Obama's lack of qualifications, and,

2) I detect some befuddled jealousy. I mean how many here, on their best day, could hope to become governor of their states?

Credit where credit is due.
Mad Carl Paladino is running in my state. Enough said?

So what exactly SHOULD people give a crap about? Guns? Freedom to plough yer own plot a land? What?

TAM:)

What people DO care about in this election cycle is the economy and the disastrous handling of it by CruzeShipObama.

That's why this thread is not only a smear based on complete lies, but it is a smear intended to distract people from the real issues. Which won't work.

But the basic tactic here is

A. Look how stupid Palin is!
B. Palin's the face of the Repubicans!
C. Vote against those monsters.

It's all pretty simple really. And it's quite futile.

We'll see in a couple of weeks, won't we?

This thread is distracting noone. I love how 8 years of bush destroying your economy is turned into 2 years of "Obama ruined everything".

It is your republicans who have voted Palin as the most popular republican in the group...

TAM:)

So the attempt to put a (false) face on the Republican-Tea Party combo (or whatever is going on there) by using Palin, then alleging her to be stoopid, is not a distraction from the real issues the voters care about at this moment in time?

EG, the economy.

Now that would be news to a lot of people.

(Leaving aside the fact that the allegations of stupid are not supported by the evidence which actually proves to the contrary, of course, but as previously noted nothing but lies are expected from our friendly Progressive socialists in the two weeks prior to the election). Now why do we say here "Leaving aside the fact"?

Because that's the distraction from the issues of concern.

Duhhh....

You are a good and faithful Republican and represent your party well. Keep up the good work.

Mhaze,

This is a small thread in a subforum of a forum...and not exactly a big popular forum of america. It is distracting no one.

If you are referring to the overarching linkage from the left, of sara and the tea party...well where are they wrong. Sarah is the self proclaimed tea party advocate, and she is certainly the most popular.

As for stupid....well i think here intellect is about average, her manipulative and cunning skills well above average, and her intellectual curiosity in the toilet.

All good points and well made.

Now you can get back to the real business at hand that real Americans care about: Calling democrats secret Marxists.

Mhaze,

This is a small thread in a subforum of a forum...and not exactly a big popular forum of america. It is distracting no one....

Right. It is a backwater eddy of nothing, this JREF discussion. It has very low google references and no one of any importance reads it or references it.

I referred to the use of the argument as distraction in the greater media, since the argument, like almost all of these ridiculous smear-the-right threads, did not originate here but was simply cut and pasted from other upstream sites.

That's one reason that these threads have so many logical and factual errors and omissions.

.... Sarah is the self proclaimed tea party advocate, and she is certainly the most popular....As for stupid....
Well, that's news to me. I didn't know those tea party people promoted or endorsed candidates. Fact is, I didn't know Palin was running for anything. Except marathons.

So it's really hard for me to conceptualize the idiotic characterizations of her as per this and other threads as anything other than REALLY STUPID, because there seem to be many blatantly wrong facts, poorly researched and presented, followed by blatantly wrong conclusions.

Side note - there's some talk that her 1773 comment was a trap. Not a bear trap, because the mindsets to be trapped are not of that size and caliber. Not even a mouse trap, for similar reasons. Buty a very small trap, for

...obamazoa...;)

(Leaving aside the fact that the allegations of stupid are not supported by the evidence which actually proves to the contrary, of course...

But it doesn't. I previously posted this:

"That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, we're ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers who are looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the, uh -- it's got to be all about job creation too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade. We've got to see trade as an opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today. We've got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation, The bailout is part of that."

When she says something like this, do you believe that it:

A) Makes sense.
B) Does not make sense but is irrelevant to the question of her intelligence.
C) Is the fault of the leftist reporter who asked a gotcha question.
D) ???

I'm genuinely curious.

Mhaze,

1. You cannot be seriously arguing that the "us politics" forum at the jref is a widely read mainstream forum on politics....seriously.

2. you can deny, honestly or not, that Palin is the tea party darling, leader, front person all you want, but no one, not even her, is buying it.

I hear crickets.

1782 reads on this topic... Clearly - the majority of the voting public are reading every word we type!

:D

1. I am not. Thought what I said was fairly clear.

It is a backwater eddy of nothing, this JREF discussion. It has very low google references and no one of any importance reads it or references it.

2. Sure. I'll deny it. Doesn't matter who "is buying it", just substantiate the claim with some authoritative statement from those teabatters that "Palin is our Darling Leader" or something similar. Otherwise I'll just continue assuming such things are fabricated out of whole cloth.

But it doesn't. I previously posted this....I'm genuinely curious.

So let me get this straight. The OP of this thread fails to substantiate the "Palin is stupid" meme with the reference to her discussion of evolution. It failed quite totally miserably.

So now we should go to some other discussion of how and why she might be stupid, and the stupidity of the OP, and those who initially believed it, should be discarded?

Hmm....

The OP of this thread tried to show that Palin's critics are stupid. You can read, yes?

It did fail.

Hmm....

It was you who alleged that since 2008, liberals have smeared Palin in a desperate attempt to paint her as stupid. I've posted one example (out of many) of genuine, undeniable Palin stupidity and asked for your response.

Your evasion fails quite totally miserably.

I see what you did there. Lying for Sarah. :D

What i find astounding is that someone with apparent smarts would try to defend someone with so little qualification (to do the job right) as palin. There are so many rep leaders who i can see legitimacy in defending...but palin? Really?

TAM:)

Palin is a dangerous force in US politics from my ass of the planet viewpoint.

I see it as a sort of astroturfed "One Nation" with more financial backing and better PR.

Well now she has her own tv station, so pr is not too hard to come by.

At the risk of repeating myself (and committing a logical fallacy)...

...who is more qualified to run a country - someone who has run a state or someone who has run, well...nothing.

Again, I sat out the last election cycle. It worried me to have Palin and her religious views and lack of knowledge "a heartbeat away" and McCain seemed like he would represent four more years of tired and failed policies.

But Obama scared me with his talk of redistributing wealth as "only fair". His affiliations also concerned me. There seemed to be a very left-wing philosophy being barely contained when he spoke, and it reared its ugly (to me) head from time to time in unguarded comments.

Still, I was glad, and hopeful, and even proud when Obama won. I wanted to give "Hope" and "Change" a chance. So far, I've been pretty disappointed pretty much down the line*.

But That's Just Me™!

*I'm pretty conservative fiscally, but I think this country needs either a "public option" for health care (Medicare buy-in option for everyone), or even a "single payer" system done right. Instead, with a democratic majority in both houses, all we got was a monstrosity of a health care bill that will seem to do just cover more people, but at unconstrained and possibly unaffordable rates.
