Troops Waited While Hillary Chowed Down

Considering the source, and other articles listed below that probably came from a tabloid, do you have any other source for this story?

They had a hard time finding troops who wanted to eat with her. No surprise really. This is SOP for Politburo members.
Whenever I see a link to Newsmax, I know it is not worth reading. Their articles are always on the fanatical edge of right wing, and are almost never substantiated by other news sources. On the other hand, they may be great at fiction.

The sad thing is, if it is true I wouldn't be surprised at all. Maybe someone from newsmax could do their own version of Mike Walker's "pick the fake headline".

Follow up: I can't find the People magazine source. They also don't give the name of their source for afghanistan.

Just look at the bottom of the article.

This is pretty standard practice, waiting for the dinner guest to arrive before beginning dinner. Serving the dinner guest first is pretty standard etiquette as well. Consideration for the guest's busy schedule is fairly normal as well.

With regards to this particular dinner engagement, it's fairly normal for chow to be delayed while awaiting the arrival of some visiting dignitary. It's also pretty normal for the dignitary to be brought to the head of the line. Further, most dignitaries are not only on a short timetable that pushes their departures, they are also completely unaware of the mess they've caused. They don't intend to screw up dinner, and don't generally know they've screwed anything up.

In other words, I seriously doubt that Hilary called ahead and said "Don't let them start without me, I'll only be two hours late", and I doubt that she demanded front-line treatment. More likely, the unit commanders wouldn't start until the guest got there, and rushed her to the front of the line so she could get on with her other appointments after a few photos.

Just like any other visitor.

I wouldn't trust newsmax if they said the sun would rise tomorrow, still I doubt that many US troops were excited about eating w/ Hillary. They know when they're being used for political ends, and I haven't seen any stories featuring the troops cheering wildly when she showed up.

I've already posted this to another thread based on a newsmax article.... I think you can judge a news service by the adds it runs (what level of intelligence do they imagine thier readers have if they run this sort of stuff)

problems with credit card debt???? no worries, sign up with these people....As advertised on Newsmax.

The theory of debt reduction we employ is founded in law and has had excellent results at arbitration and within the courts. The end result is that we are able to eliminate almost any unsecured credit debt issued by national banks – including credit cards and lines of credit such as VISA, Master Card and American Express. After the process, in most of the cases that we have seen, not only is the debt eliminated, but you will end up with an arbitration award in the amount of the last balance. (In other words if you owed $5,000 dollars on a VISA card, after the process, not only will the debt be eliminated but the bank that issued the VISA will owe you $5,000!)

woooohoooo!!! sign me up!!!!

Ok, now what kind of disruption did the Shrub cause in his trip to Iraq?

Wanna bet it's 20x worse than anything Hillary caused?

But how come we don't see dishonest, obviously malicious, unethically represented articles about that?

Obviously, it's because of the trivially obvious, incontrovertable conservative bias in the news media!

I tried reading about it, but my head began swimming. My understanding is that the debt elimination company believes that National Banks cannot lend credit.

So ALL you have to do is to demand that your credit card debt (underwritten by a national bank) is taken to arbitration, ensure that the arbitration is carried out by a judge who believe the initial premise to be true and hope that the bank doesn't "turn up" simple!!

I'd like someone who understands more than I do (which I guess is anyone who lives in the US) to point out why this is rubbish. I mean it clearly is, but how can these people avoid presecution for fraud ?

Short answer: they don't. It's just that the justice department is pretty slow to act on such scams, for some reason, so they've got some time to make their money.

In other words, the story's true. I also found it amusing that 20 soldiers dined with Hillary, and only 6 asked for her autograph. Yeah, the troops love her...

*yawn*

Every military dog and pony show takes forever and pisses off the troops. Democrats, Republicans, celebrities, retiring generals...it is always a bunch of hurry up and wait going on in those situations. The idiocy is in someone actually reporting this nonsense and calling it 'news'.

Irrelevant.

The troops had guns in their pockets AND were glad to see him.

That's what counts. :p

The only thing amusing is that you find anything relevant in a discredited story from scaifemax(tm)

THIS Thread...

...is blatantly politically biased.

First of all it is SENATOR Clinton, just like it is PRESIDENT Bush, regardless of how much I personally disapprove of his policies.

Secondly, when the President went to Iraq, some 200 soliders were DENIED a turkey dinner at all, and were reduced to MRE's for their Thanksgiving Dinner. And that was for 'security' reasons, as the soliders were questioned as to their political beliefs before their were allowed to dine with the President...

As with ANY situation, some people are going to be pleased with the situation, and some won't be.

'I' probably wouldn't asked the President for his autograph, but that doesn't mean I don't support and respect him as my sitting President.

And if 14 of the 20 didn't ask Senator Clinton for her autograph, maybe they too still 'respect' her as one of their Senators anyways.

Why didn't this story just say that, "Senator Clinton 'attempted' to spread a little Holiday cheer by eating Thanksgiving Dinner with a small group of soliders in Iraq."

No need for emotional biased or trying to characterize how people there felt.
